TL;DR: In this paper, a communication protocol for communicating data between endpoint devices and an upstream data-collecting device over power distribution lines carrying alternating current is proposed. But the protocol is not suitable for wireless networks.
Abstract: Aspects are directed to communicating data over power distribution lines carrying alternating current, using a communication protocol for communicating data between endpoint devices and an upstream data-collecting device. From first symbols having a plurality of bits, at least two second symbols are generated, the second symbols respectively including different subsets of the bits in the first symbol. Each first symbol is split into second symbols having a predefined bit size for an encoding operation that operates on entire symbols having the predefined bit size (e.g., smaller than the bit size of the first symbols). The second symbols are encoded and combined according to the communication protocol. The encoded symbols are communicated over the power distribution lines based on timing indicated at least in part by the alternating current.
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a method for transmitting a stream of data in a communication system with at least two transmission antennas and a transmitter implementing the method, which comprises the steps of: - dividing the stream of the data elements in first words of k bits, encoding (1) the first words with a non binary code, and the size (k) in bits of the code symbols dividing the number of bits per space-time codeword, - interleaving (2) the encoded symbols by a symbol wise interleaver - splitting the interleaved bit stream
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for transmitting a stream of data in a communication system with at least two transmission antennas and a transmitter implementing said method. The method comprises the steps of: - dividing the stream of data elements in first words of k bits, - encoding (1) the first words with a non binary code, the first words being the symbols of the non binary code and the size (k) in bits of the code symbols dividing the number of bits per space-time codeword, - interleaving (2) the encoded symbols by a symbol wise interleaver - splitting the interleaved bit stream thus obtained into groups of log2(M) bits, - mapping (3) the groups of log2(M) bits onto complex symbols using a constellation of M points, then - coding (4) the complex symbols using a space-time code to obtain space-time code words.
TL;DR: In this article, a device and method for encoding bits to symbols for a communication system are described, which includes receiving a set of N-bit data to be transmitted, where N is an integer, generating side scrambling values using a polynomial, scrambling the set of n-bits data using the side scrambling value to produce scrambled data, mapping the scrambled data to a particular set of M symbols from a plurality of sets of m symbols.
Abstract: A device and method for encoding bits to symbols for a communication system are described. In one embodiment, a method for encoding bits to symbols for a communication system includes receiving a set of N-bit data to be transmitted, where N is an integer, generating side scrambling values using a polynomial, scrambling the set of N-bit data using the side scrambling values to produce scrambled data, mapping the scrambled data to a particular set of M symbols from a plurality of sets of M symbols, where M is an integer and M is smaller than N, and outputting the particular set of M symbols for transmission over a transmission medium. Other embodiments are also described.
TL;DR: In this article, the disparity information determined by 8B/10B decoder circuitry in the communication channel is supplied to other circuitry of the PLD so that any requirement for disparity to have a particular value in conjunction with certain received codes can be checked.
Abstract: An integrated circuit like a programmable logic device (“PLD”) includes a communication channel employing 8B/10B coding. Disparity information determined by 8B/10B decoder circuitry in the communication channel is supplied to other circuitry of the PLD so that any requirement for disparity to have a particular value in conjunction with certain received codes can be checked. On the transmitter side, circuitry is provided for selectively forcing the 8B/10B encoder to use a commanded disparity (which can be either positive or negative) under particular circumstances.
TL;DR: The present invention provides a method for encoding and decoding the 8B / 10B transmission code at a high speed by using the disparity characteristics of bytes to the boundary of the current block, starting with the reference point preceding, to calculate the parity.
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for encoding and decoding the 8B / 10B transmission code at a high speed. During A decoding and encoding, and disparity in the reference point preceding, from the reference point by using the disparity characteristics of bytes to the boundary of the current block, starting THIS of the current block to calculate the parity. The characteristics of the byte, byte whether unbalanced encoding vector, and the number of the unbalanced vector refers to even or odd. Alternatively, the characteristics of the byte, whether the byte is balanced, refers to whether balancing encoding vector are many exist. The new classification for performing encoding and decoding 3B / 4B and 5B / 6B transmission code has been created. Independent function dealing with the disparity direction in particular, was created. Disparity violation of a byte immediately preceding, actual running disparity is assumed to be equal to exit disparity of the two preceding disparity dependent byte (thenextprecedingbytethatisdisparitydependent), actual and necessary front-end disparity of bytes by comparing the running disparity is detected during decoding.
