Global Positioning System: Signals, Measurements, and Performance
Per Enge
- 01 Dec 2010
TL;DR: This advanced tutorial will describe the GPS signals, the various measurements made by the GPS receivers, and estimate the achievable accuracies, and focus on topics which are more unique to radio navigation or GPS.

Theory of Spread-Spectrum Communications--A Tutorial
TL;DR: It is the intention of this paper to provide a tutorial treatment of the theory of spread-spectrum communications, including a discussion on the applications referred to, on the properties of common spreading sequences, and on techniques that can be used for acquisition and tracking.
A digital watermark
R.G. van Schyndel,Andrew Z. Tirkel,Charles F Osborne +2 more
- 13 Nov 1994
TL;DR: The paper discusses the feasibility of coding an "undetectable" digital water mark on a standard 512/spl times/512 intensity image with an 8 bit gray scale, capable of carrying such information as authentication or authorisation codes, or a legend essential for image interpretation.

Code division multiple-access techniques in optical fiber networks. I. Fundamental principles
TL;DR: An examination is made of fiber-optic code-division multiple-access (FO-CDMA), a technique in which low information data rates are mapped into very-high-rate address codes (signature sequences) for the purpose of achieving random, asynchronous communications free of network control, among many users.

The Subsequence Weight Distribution of Summed Maximum Length Digital Sequences
TL;DR: The analysis reveals that the statistics of the signals generated with the hybrid-sum generator are potentially superior for many applications to the statistics that are generated with single maximum length sequence generators.

Strictly complex impulse-equivalent codes and subsets with very uniform amplitude distributions
TL;DR: It is shown that a logical interpretation of the notion of random selection leads to a set of impulse-equivalent codes that is generated from maximal shift-register sequences, and this set is proven to be contained within the nontrivially complex subclass.

New class of pseudorandom ternary sequences
P.A.N. Briggs,K.R. Godfrey +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the cross-correlation function between pairs of binary maximum-length sequences of the same period has only three levels, and the method of formation of a class of these ternary crosscorrelation sequences is described, and some properties of the class are listed.

Synthesis of cyclically orthogonal binary sequences of the same least period
D. Calabro,J. Paolillo +1 more
TL;DR: It will be shown that pairs of cyclically orthogonal binary sequences of length and least period N = 2^{k}r can be synthesized for all integers k and any nonprime odd integer r.
