Microalbuminuria and endothelial dysfunction in essential hypertension
Roberto Pedrinelli,Giulia Dell'Omo,G Catapano,Ottavio Giampietro,Franco Carmassi,Elena Matteucci,L Talarico,M. Morale,F. De Negri,V. Di Bello,E Melillo +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the status of endothelial function was inferred from circulating von Willebrand Factor antigen (vWF), a glycoprotein secreted in greater amounts when the vascular endothelium is damaged.

Left ventricular function during exercise in athletes and in sedentary men.
V. Di Bello,Giuseppe E. Santoro,L Talarico,C Di Muro,M.T. Caputo,Davide Giorgi,Alessio Bertini,M. Bianchi,Costantino Giusti +8 more
TL;DR: Higher peak E in athletes showed complex cardiovascular adjustments induced by training, which allowed an higher peak working power, a greater cardiac output, and VO2max when compared with an untrained control population.

Normal ultrasonic myocardial reflectivity in athletes with increased left ventricular mass. A tissue characterization study.
Fabio Lattanzi,V. Di Bello,Eugenio Picano,M.T. Caputo,L Talarico,C Di Muro,Luigi Landini,Gino Santoro,Costantino Giusti,Alessandro Distante +9 more
TL;DR: E endurance athletes show a normal pattern of quantitatively assessed ultrasonic backscatter despite of a marked left ventricular hypertrophy and athletes and patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and similar degrees of myocardial wall thickness can be differentiated on the basis of quantitative analysis of backscattered signal.

Relationship between preclinical abnormalities of global and regional left ventricular function and insulin resistance in severe obesity: a Color Doppler Imaging Study.
V. Di Bello,Ferruccio Santini,A Di Cori,Andrea Pucci,Caterina Palagi,M. G. Delle Donne,Monica Giannetti,Enrica Talini,Carmela Nardi,Gianni Pedrizzetti,Paola Fierabracci,Paolo Vitti,Aldo Pinchera,Alberto Balbarini +13 more
TL;DR: This study has demonstrated that obese patients pointed out systolic structural and functional abnormalities at a preclinical stage, in particular through strain and SR analysis; on the other hand, those altered CDMI parameters well distinguish obese subjects as compared with the control group.
68
Ultrasonic Videodensitometric Analysis of Two Different Models of Left Ventricular Hypertrophy: Athlete’s Heart and Hypertension
V. Di Bello,Roberto Pedrinelli,Davide Giorgi,Alessio Bertini,L Talarico,M.T. Caputo,B Massimiliano,Giulia Dell'Omo,Marco Paterni,Costantino Giusti +9 more
TL;DR: In conclusion, abnormalities of two-dimensional echocardiographic gray-level distribution are present in hypertensive hypertrophied individuals but seem unrelated to the degree of echOCardiographic hypertrophy as such.
