Prognostic value of minimal residual disease (MRD) in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) with favorable cytogenetics [t(8;21) and inv(16)]
Granada Perea,Adriana Lasa,Anna Aventin,Alicia Domingo,Neus Villamor,M. Paz Queipo De Llano,Andreu Llorente,Jordi Juncà,C. Palacios,C. Fernández,M. Gallart,Llorens Font,Mar Tormo,Lourdes Florensa,J. Bargay,Josep Martí,Pilar Vivancos,Pio Torres,Juan Berlanga,Isabel Badell,Salut Brunet,Jordi Sierra,Josep F. Nomdedeu +22 more
TL;DR: Combined use of FC and RQ-PCR may improve MRD detection, and provide useful clinical information on relapse kinetics in AML patients.

Fratricide-resistant CD1a-specific CAR T cells for the treatment of cortical T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia
Diego Sánchez-Martínez,Matteo Libero Baroni,Francisco Gutierrez-Agüera,Heleia Roca-Ho,O. Blanch-Lombarte,Sara González-García,Montserrat Torrebadell,Montserrat Torrebadell,Jordi Juncà,Manuel Ramírez-Orellana,Talia Velasco-Hernandez,Clara Bueno,José Luis Fuster,Julia G. Prado,Julien Calvo,Benjamin Uzan,Jan Cools,Mireia Camós,Mireia Camós,Françoise Pflumio,María L. Toribio,Pablo Menendez,Pablo Menendez,Pablo Menendez +23 more
TL;DR: It is reported that the expression of CD1a is mainly restricted to developing cortical thymocytes, and neither CD34+ progenitors nor T cells expressCD1a during ontogeny, confining the risk of on-target/off-tumor toxicity.

Hepatosplenic T-gammadelta lymphoma in a patient with Crohn's disease treated with azathioprine.
José-Tomás Navarro,Josep-Maria Ribera,José-Luis Mate,Isabel Granada,Jordi Juncà,Montserrat Batlle,Fuensanta Millá,Evarist Feliu +7 more
TL;DR: A case of HS γ δ TCL with a leukaemic course in a patient with Crohn's disease who had received azathioprine during the previous 55 years is described, showing the importance of ruling out HS ε ε TCL in patients with hepatosplenomegaly, B-symptoms and any immunosuppressive condition.

The usefulness of the serum transferrin receptor in detecting iron deficiency in the anemia of chronic disorders
Jordi Juncà,Francesc Fernández-Avilés,Albert Oriol,Josep Tomàs Navarro,Fuensanta Millá,Juan M. Sancho,Evarist Feliu +6 more
TL;DR: In the authors' opinion, the iron status of patients with anemia of chronic diseases can not be accurately assessed by sTfR, as its sensitivity and specificity are low.

Predictive factors for poor peripheral blood stem cell mobilization and peak CD34+cell count to guide pre-emptive or immediate rescue mobilization.
Juan-Manuel Sancho,Mireia Morgades,Joan-Ramon Grifols,Jordi Juncà,Ramon Guardia,Susana Vives,Christelle Ferra,Monsterrat Batlle,Anna Ester,David Gallardo,Fuensanta Millá,Evarist Feliu,Josep-Maria Ribera +12 more
TL;DR: The threshold of CD34(+) cell count in PB identified poor mobilizers, in whom the administration of immediate or pre-emptive plerixafor could be useful to avoid a second mobilization.
