Influence of chromium-enriched yeast on blood glucose and insulin variables, blood lipids, and markers of oxidative stress in subjects with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
TL;DR: The data suggest that supplementation of well-controlled type 2 diabetics with Cr-enriched yeast is safe and can result in improvements in blood glucose variables and oxidative stress.

The influence of folate and antioxidants on homocysteine levels and oxidative stress in patients with hyperlipidemia and hyperhomocysteinemia.
TL;DR: Folate may be considered as an effective antioxidant in patients with hyperhomocysteinemia; this can be a result of decreased production of free radicals due to a reduced level of homocysteine, but its antioxidative effect cannot be promoted by co-administration of antioxidants.

Antibodies against oxidized LDL--theory and clinical use.
TL;DR: The changes and correlations of IgoxLDL, anti-beta-2-glycoprotein I IgG and antiphospholipid antibodies support the immunological link between thrombotic and atherosclerotic processes in the human body.
•Journal Article
Unexpected inverse relationship between insulin resistance and serum homocysteine in healthy subjects.
TL;DR: The negative association of insulin resistance and serum homocysteine was unexpected and the contribution of plasma folate levels to serum homocrysteine levels and serum creatinine was significantly negative and positive, respectively.
Parathyroid hormone and vitamin D levels are independently associated with calcific aortic stenosis.

TL;DR: Higher serum iPTH with lower vitamin D levels were independently associated with calcific aortic stenosis in patients with significant coronary artery disease and preserved renal function.
