Superiority of magnesium and vitamin B6 over magnesium alone on severe stress in healthy adults with low magnesemia: A randomized, single-blind clinical trial.
Etienne Pouteau,Marmar Kabir-Ahmadi,Lionel Noah,André Mazur,Louise Dye,Juliane Hellhammer,Gisèle Pickering,Claude Dubray +7 more
TL;DR: This first randomized trial evaluating the effects of combined magnesium and vitamin B6 supplementation on stress in a stressed population with low magnesemia using a validated measure of perceived stress suggests oral Mg supplementation alleviated stress in healthy adults with low Magnesemia.
Human surrogate models of central sensitization: A critical review and practical guide
Charles Quesada,Anna Kostenko,Idy Ho,Caterina Leone,Zahra Nochi,Alexandre Stouffs,Matthias Wittayer,Ombretta Caspani,Nanna B. Finnerup,André Mouraux,Gisèle Pickering,Irene Tracey,Andrea Truini,Rolf-Detlef Treede,Luis Garcia-Larrea +14 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors performed a systematic literature review (PubMed-Medline, Cochrane, WoS, ClinicalTrials) and semi-quantitative meta-analysis of human pain models that aim to induce central sensitization, and generate hyperalgesia surrounding a real or simulated injury.

Dextromethorphan Analgesia in a Human Experimental Model of Hyperalgesia
Elodie Martin,Céline Narjoz,Xavier Declèves,L. Labat,Céline Lambert,Marie-Anne Loriot,Gilles Ducheix,Christian Dualé,Bruno Pereira,Gisèle Pickering +9 more
TL;DR: The freeze-injury pain model leads to development of primary and secondary hyperalgesia, which develops away from the site of injury and is associated with central sensitization and activation of N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor in the spinal cord and low-dose dextromethorphan is antihyperalgesic in humans.

Magnesium for the Management of Chronic Noncancer Pain in Adults: Protocol for a Systematic Review
TL;DR: A detailed search on Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, MEDLINE, and EMBASE from their inception until the date the searches are run is expected to identify available high-quality evidence describing the efficacy and safety of magnesium for the treatment of chronic noncancer pain.
Short communication Magnesium and MK-801 have a similar effect in two experimental models of neuropathic pain
Sophie Begon,Gisèle Pickering,Alain Eschalier,Claude Dubray +3 more
- 01 Jan 2000
TL;DR: Results suggest that magnesium could be an alternative for the treatment of neuropathic pain in patients, and show that magnesium reverses the hyperalgesia, as does MK-801.
