Projecting genetic associations through gene expression patterns highlights disease etiology and drug mechanisms
Milton Pividori,Sumei Lu,Binglan Li,Chun Su,Matthew E. Johnson,Wei-Qi Wei,QiPing Feng,Bahram Namjou,Krzysztof Kiryluk,Iftikhar J. Kullo,Yuan Luo,Blair D. Sullivan,Benjamin F. Voight,Carsten Skarke,Marylyn D. Ritchie,Struan F.A. Grant,Struan F.A. Grant,Casey S. Greene +17 more
TL;DR: In this article, a polygenic approach was proposed to predict known drug-disease pairs and revealed stable trait clusters, including a complex branch involving lipids with cardiovascular, autoimmune, and neuropsychiatric disorders.
The probability of edge existence due to node degree: a baseline for network-based predictions
Michael Zietz,Daniel Himmelstein,Kyle Kloster,Christopher J. Williams,Michael W. Nagle,Blair D. Sullivan,Casey S. Greene +6 more
- 05 Mar 2020
TL;DR: A network permutation framework is introduced to quantify the proportions attributable to degree and the network’s speci c connections and discovers that performance attributable to factors other than degree is often only a small portion of overall performance.

Parameterized algorithms for identifying gene co-expression modules via weighted clique decomposition
TL;DR: In this article, a new combinatorial model for identifying regulatory modules in gene co-expression data using a decomposition into weighted cliques is presented, which generalizes the previously-studied weighted edge clique partition problem.

A color-avoiding approach to subgraph counting in bounded expansion classes.
Felix Reidl,Blair D. Sullivan +1 more
TL;DR: The algorithm provides a promising alternative to algorithms using the traditional $p$-treedepth colouring framework and describes preliminary experimental results from an initial open source implementation which highlight its potential.
