Failure Investigation of a Final Super Heater Tube in a 140 MW Thermal Power Plant
TL;DR: In this paper, a detailed investigation of the failure of a super heater tube in a 140MW thermal power plant was carried out to deduce the probable cause of failure, which was concluded that the tube had failed due to stress rupture.

High-Temperature Graphitization Failure of Primary Superheater Tube
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the probable cause/causes of failure of the primary superheater tube in a thermal power plant boiler and concluded that the tube failed due to graphitization for prolonged exposure of the tube at higher temperature.

Failure of a Secondary Superheater Tube in a 140-MW Thermal Power Plant
Atanu Saha,A. K. Shukla +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an investigation was conducted to determine the cause of failure of a welded joint of a secondary superheater tube from a 140MW thermal power plant, which led to intergranular cracking at austenite grain boundaries.

Investigation into the Probable Cause of Failure of Economizer Tube of a Thermal Power Plant
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined the probable cause of failure of a welded joint of a economizer tube of a 210 MW thermal power plant and concluded that severe blowholes, pipings, and porosity along with brittle fracture were responsible for the failure.

Investigation into Cause of High Temperature Failure of Boiler Superheater Tube
TL;DR: In this paper, a case study of typical premature failure of a final superheater tube of a 210 MW thermal power plant boiler is presented, which can be attributed to the combination of localized high tube metal temperature and loss of metal from the outer surface due to high temperature corrosion.
