TL;DR: In this paper , the authors examined how home-fluencers sponsored posts on millennial consumers' purchase intention in the international marketing sphere can be impacted in the new normal by drawing on source credibility, parasocial interaction (PSI) and persuasion knowledge model (PKM) theory.
Abstract: PurposeThe purpose of this study is to examine how “homefluencers” sponsored posts on millennial consumers' purchase intention in the international marketing sphere can be impacted in the new normal by drawing on source credibility, parasocial interaction (PSI) and persuasion knowledge model (PKM) theory.Design/methodology/approachThis research applies structural equation modeling (SEM) and mediation analysis as the data analysis method using non-probability purposive sampling of a total of 217 local millennial Instagram and Facebook users, who have followed homefluencers sponsored posts in fashion-beauty, yoga-fitness and food sectors.FindingsBased on hypothesis testing, advertising recognition strongly mediates purchase intention with the indirect effects of expertise and trustworthiness than attractiveness.Research limitations/implicationsThis research extends the international marketing literature on source credibility, PSI, PKM and purchase intention theory in the new normal by proposing “Homefluencer's Endorsement Model for Purchase Intention” (HEMPI). Specifically, the mediating role of ad recognition of homefluencers sponsorship disclosure (#paidad, #sponsored), positively affects “change-of-persuasion meaning” on Instagram and Facebook, where research is rare.Practical implicationsThis research provides valuable suggestions for global brand owners, consumers and authorities of Instagram and Facebook to consider post-COVID consumer behavior highlighting homefluencers sponsored collaboration.Originality/valueThe authors have contributed to the use of the source credibility model and PSI to identify the antecedents in determining how the homefluencer's effective sponsorship disclosure can positively activate ad recognition on millennial consumers' purchase intention in a crisis period from an international standpoint with the practical implications in post-COVID.
TL;DR: In this article , the impact of workplace spirituality on the level of engagement shown by the teachers at higher education institutions was investigated, and the findings generated from structural equation modeling analysis revealed that teachers who practiced spirituality at their workplace were more engaged.
Abstract:
Purpose
Drawing on the positive activity model, this study aims to investigate the impact of workplace spirituality on the level of engagement shown by the teachers at higher education institutions. This study also tries to explore if emotional intelligence acts as a mediator in the relationship between workplace spirituality and employee engagement.
Design/methodology/approach
Using the purposive sampling technique, data were collected from the teachers (N = 287) teaching at various Indian educational institutions imparting tertiary education. The variables under study were measured using standardized instruments. The data were analyzed by means of Statistical Package for Social Sciences 20.0 and Analysis of Moment Structures software tools.
Findings
The findings generated from structural equation modeling analysis revealed that the teachers who practiced spirituality at their workplace were more engaged. Furthermore, emotional intelligence partially mediated this relationship.
Practical implications
This study underscores the importance of providing a spiritually conducive work milieu and nurturing emotional intelligence among the higher education teachers for better job outcomes.
Originality/value
This study offers insights into the mechanism linking spirituality at the workplace (a positive activity) and employee engagement (an indicator of well-being) in the context of higher education sector.
TL;DR: In this article , the effect of company size, profitability, capital structure, leverage and institutional ownership on firm value in property & real estate companies listed on the IDX (Indonesia Stock Exchange) from 2015-2019 period was examined and analyzed.
Abstract: This research aims to examine and analyze the effect of company size, profitability, capital structure, leverage & institutional ownership on firm value in property & real estate companies listed on the IDX (Indonesia Stock Exchange) from 2015-2019 period. The population obtained was 35 companies in research is property & real estate companies listed on the IDX (Indonesia Stock Exchange) from 2015-2019 period & the sample obtained was 20 companies. Sampling method used in research was “purposive sampling”. This type of research is quantitative research. The type of research used in in this research is descriptive quantitative. The research data source is secondary data obtained form the annual financial statements. The data analysis used is multiple linear regression, the coefficient of determinantion test, the classical assumption test, the F test & the hypothesis test. The results of the study showed that company size (SIZE), profitability (ROA), capital structure (DER) and leverage (DAR) affect on firm value (PBV) in property and real estate companies listed on the IDX (Indonesia Stock Exchange) from 2015-2019 period, while institutional ownership (INST) not affect on firm value (PBV) in property & real estate companies listed on the IDX (Indonesia Stock Exchange) for 2015-2019 period.
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of the normality assumption in variables sampling is examined, and methods to detect departures from normality are reviewed, where the distribution of the parameter being inspected must be known.
Abstract: Acceptance sampling plans based on variables have been in use for many years. Recently, there has been a renewal of interest in these plans, because of the relative efficiencies that they offer with respect to attributes sampling regarding sample size. Furthermore, in situations where acceptable quality levels are very small, and a high level of protection is desired, variables sampling is often much more efficient than attributes sampling. An important disadvantage of variables sampling is that the distribution of the parameter being inspected must be known. Most standard variables sampling plans assume that the distribution of this parameter is normal. This article examines the effect of the normality assumption in variables sampling. Methods to detect departures from normality are reviewed.
TL;DR: This interventional study aimed to design, pilot and translate proven research evidence, agreed conventions and country policy document to real setting implementation to prevent domestic violence against women in Awi zone, northwestern Ethiopia.
Abstract: Violence against women is a well understood devastating global pandemic, and human right violation. One in three women experienced intimate partner violence worldwide. In Ethiopia, the level of domestic violence against women is one of the highest in the world. However, Ethiopia is signatory for various conventions and incorporated in legal frameworks. Nevertheless, effective implementation of the existing policy documents, and engaging different stakeholders is very limited. Therefore, we aimed to pilot feasibility of implementing available research evidence and policy documents at community level to prevent domestic violence against women in Awi zone, northwestern Ethiopia. A community-based quasi-experimental study design will be employed using mixed method. Multistage stratified systematic sampling and purposive sampling will be used to recruit quantitative and qualitative study participants, respectively. A total of 1,269 women will be participated in the intervention, active comparator and control groups. Pre and post-test quantitative data will be collected using face-to-face interview. Qualitative data will be collected through in-depth, key informant interview and focus group discussions. Intervention: advocacy meeting will be held to persuade local politicians and sustain the implementation of community based intervention to prevent domestic violence against women. Community representatives will be trained to enhance peer education to promote community awareness and engage stakeholders to transform the traditional gender norm within local context. Awareness creation and husband involvement will be made through integrating the intervention with community health extension program. Only husband involvement will not be promoted in the active comparator to test the role of husband involvement on the domestic violence prevention activities. Intervention progress will be monitored regularly. Gathered data will be entered in Epidata and exported to SPSS (23.0) software for analysis. Descriptive statistics, logistic regressions, intention to treat analysis and difference in differences will be computed. Qualitative data will be transcribed, color coded, thematically analyzed and arranged using Nvivo. This interventional study is aimed to design, pilot and translate proven research evidence, agreed conventions and country policy document to real setting implementation. We are expecting to initiate implementation of culturally acceptable intervention through engaging stakeholders. Policy makers, planners and any concerned bodies will be benefited.
