TL;DR: In this paper, a fund-raising measure for DMZ conservation, using economic incentives mechanism when multiple developers participate in the auction to get the right to develop North Korean regions, have private information about their sunk costs and pay a part of their profits for the fund.
Abstract: The Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) has the great ecosystem as all the artificial activities in DMZ have been prohibited over half a century. The ecosystem should be conserved even after the reunification of Korea and hence the conservation plan should be established not after the reunification but before it. It requires a considerable budget to conserve DMZ, considering management of ecology resource, recovery, and research. The objective of this paper is to analyze a fund-raising measure for DMZ conservation, using economic incentives mechanism when multiple developers participate in the auction to get the right to develop North Korean regions, have private information about their sunk costs and pay a part of their profits for the fund. First, we analyze the real option model to decide the optimal investment time. Second, we construct the auction for bidders not to misrepresent their private information, based on Bayesian Nash equilibrium.
TL;DR: In this paper, a management server includes a control module that sends a firewall setting command to a firewall agent module of each firewall, and controls the firewall agent to set parameters of the firewall according to the firewall setting commands.
Abstract: A management server includes a control module. The management server electronically connects with one or more firewall, and each firewall connects one or more VMs which are installed in the same or different hosts. The control module sends a firewall setting command to a firewall agent module of each firewall, and controls the firewall agent module to set parameters of the firewall according to the firewall setting command. Furthermore, the control module sends a VM control command to a host agent module of each host, and controls the host agent module to perform one or more operations on one or more VMs in the host.
TL;DR: To achieve a lower degree of module dependency, the techniques of Object-Relational (O/R) mapping, code generation, wrapper architecture, template engine consolidation, and test case were leveraged.
Abstract: We have been operating a vulnerability management portal site for the DMZ network, namely the network which allows connections from the Internet. In the DMZ network, security management is crucially important, and vulnerability management is useful for maintaining security. The portal site is named DMZ User's Portal and has been successfully operating for 13 years. For DMZ User's Portal, we have adopted the same series of a vulnerability analysis engine, which has many advantages, but a more powerful inspection performance of the engine has gradually become required in preparation for today's hard security circumstances. Now, we decided to replace the engine with a more powerful and complex one. With the replacement, it is desirable to continue the successful experiences and contributions of the portal site. However, it is quite a difficult task without the careful design and development of the modules in advance.
This paper presents the design and methods for the smooth migration of the feature-rich vulnerability analysis engine within the security portal site. The key point is the careful consideration of the module dependency. To achieve a lower degree of module dependency, the techniques of Object-Relational (O/R) mapping, code generation, wrapper architecture, template engine consolidation, and test case were leveraged. We can continue to operate the portal site while inheriting the successful experiences as well as gaining the benefits of a new and powerful vulnerability analysis engine.
TL;DR: In this paper , the legal status of the demilitarized zone (DMZ) between North Korea (Democratic People's Republic of Korea) and South Korea (Republic of Korea), its preconditions, and consequences are discussed.
Abstract: The article considers the international legal status of the demilitarized zone (DMZ) between North Korea (Democratic People's Republic of Korea) and South Korea (Republic of Korea), its preconditions, and consequences. It was emphasized that the DMZ provides for the liquidation of military facilities and if that is not possible, a ban on their use for military purposes may be introduced at the stage of post-war relations between states or during the armistice. It is established that the creation of the demilitarized zone began in 1945 when two "allies" (the United States and the Soviet Union) shared control of the Korean Peninsula. It is emphasized that by 1948 the Soviet leadership had established a communist regime in the area north of the 38th parallel, and a US-backed military government had been formed in the south. The article notes that although the Korean War (1950-1953), aimed at resolving the question of "which regime represented the 'real' Korea," is still not over (North and South Korea are still formally at war, as the peace treaty after the de facto the end of the Korean War in 1953 was never signed), the conditional end of the conflict was the signing of the 1953 Armistice Agreement. The main content of the study is the analysis of the DMZ between North Korea and South Korea, the legal status of which is governed by the Armistice Agreement of 1953. The analysis of the agreement in the article is prohibited within the DMZ (Article 1, paragraph 6). The Military Ceasefire Commission and the Neutral Observation Commission, which were established under the 1953 Ceasefire Agreement, are mentioned. provided by this agreement, it is responsible for the implementation of a certain part. Discussion issues are being raised regarding the creation of the World Peace Park in the DMZ. The article examines the problems of the Joint Security Area (JSA), which is located in the border village of Panmunjom and is a meeting area for representatives of the North and South. It is noted that despite the presence of the DMZ and numerous attempts to establish relations between the two countries, there are still constant risks of escalation of the conflict between North Korea and South Korea, which causes constant tension for citizens of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the international community.
