Shrinkage and strength behaviour of quartzitic and kaolinitic clays in wall tile compositions
TL;DR: In this article, five different clays of Indian sources were characterized and its influence in wall tile compositions was evaluated and the results showed that the compositions containing a higher amount of quartzitic clays possess lower shrinkage.

Technical Note Shrinkage and strength behaviour of quartzitic and kaolinitic clays in wall tile compositions
Swapan Kr. Das,Kausik Dana,Nar Singh,Ritwik Sarkar +3 more
- 01 Jan 2005
TL;DR: In this paper, five different clays of Indian sources were characterized and its influence in wall tile compositions was evaluated and the results showed that the compositions containing a higher amount of quartzitic clays possess lower shrinkage (b 1.0%) in the temperature range of 1050-1150 8C.

Formulation of Some Frit Compositions for Rapid Once-Fired Wall Tile Glaze
Kausik Dana,Swapan Kumar Das +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, three frit compositions were formulated and studied by varying the major constituents (alkalis (K2O + Na2O) and alkaline earth oxide (CaO) with minor changes in ZnO, SiO2, Al2O3 and B2O 3content.

Strength characteristics of nigerian quartzitic and kaolinitic clays in wall tile composition
TL;DR: The results revealed that wall tile composition containing higher amount of quartzitic clays, exhibited lower shrinkage, higher water absorption rate while lower strength and the wall tile containing high amount of kaolinitic clay showed higher shrinkage and higher strength due to better densification in the temperature range of 1050-1150 0 C as mentioned in this paper.
Some studies on ceramic body compositions for wall and floor tiles
Kausik Dana,Swapan Kumar Das +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, three ceramic tile body compositions have been studied using indigenously available natural minerals and industrial solid wastes as raw materials and physicochemical properties of all the specimens produced under laboratory conditions were compared.
