An Approximate Ablative Thermal Protection System Sizing Tool for Entry System Design
John A. Dec,Robert D. Braun +1 more
- 09 Jan 2006
TL;DR: In this paper, a computer tool to perform entry vehicle ablative thermal protection systems sizing has been developed, making use of simulated trajectory data to calculate its boundary conditions at the ablating surface and an approximate method that uses heat of ablation data to estimate heat shield recession during entry has been coupled to a one-dimensional finite difference calculation that calculates the in-depth thermal response.
SCCREAM: A Conceptual Rocket-Based Combined-Cycle Engine Performance Analysis Tool
TL;DR: SCCREAM as mentioned in this paper is a computer analysis tool capable of predicting rocket-based combined-cycle engine performance data (thrust and Isp) over a wide range of e ight conditions and engine operating modes.
