TL;DR: In this article, a car-mounted transmitter-receiver has a timer for counting the elapsed time from transmission of a request signal to reception of an answer signal, and when the answer signal is received, the receiver recognizes the received answer signal as legal only when an elapsed time value calculated by the timer is within a valid elapsed-time value set in advance.

Abstract: In a passive entry comprising a car-mounted
transmitter-receiver and one or more portable transmitter
receivers, the car-mounted transmitter-receiver generates
a request signal, when any of the portable transmitter-receivers
receives the request signal, an answer signal is
transmitted in response to the request signal, and when
the car-mounted transmitter-receiver receives the answer
signal, the car door is locked or unlocked. The car-mounted
transmitter-receiver has a timer for counting time
from transmission of the request signal to reception of
the answer signal, and when the answer signal is received,
recognizes the answer signal as legal only when an
elapsed-time value counted by the timer is within a valid
elapsed-time value set in advance, and exercises control
of a controlled apparatus, such as, e.g., locking and
unlocking of the car door.

Autonomous parking of vehicles inperpendicular parking spots
Eric Hongtei Tseng,Li Xu,Kyle Simmons +2 more
- 13 Jan 2017
TL;DR: In this article, an autonomous vehicle parker is used to detect a perpendicular parking spot and an outer boundary of the perpendicular parking space, determine a linear parking path located within the perpendicular space and based on the outer boundary, and autonomously turn into the parallel parking space such that the front corner travels along the linear path.

Control system and mobile device
Munenori Matsumoto,Yuki Tokunaga +1 more
- 21 Jan 2015
TL;DR: In this article, a control system includes a transmission device that transmits a plurality of signals having different frequencies from one of a first communication unit mounted in a vehicle and a second communication unit carried in a mobile device carried by a user in such a manner that the plurality of messages are combined to generate a predetermined composite signal in an area located at a distance from the first unit, the distance being not more than a predetermined distance.

Securing method, interrogation unit and securing system for implementing the securing method
Heinrich Haas,Udo Knepper,Karl-Heinz Mueller,Rolf Schuler +3 more
- 04 Apr 2001
TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a keyless keyless securing system for securing an object against unauthorized use, where an interrogation signal (s) is transmitted using an interrogation unit (1) and verified to check whether the interrogation signal is answered with a response signal by a response unit (2) that is carried by an authorized user, said response signal containing an authorized code as information for deactivating a securing device.

Method for securing keyless entry communication for motor vehicles
Boris Ziller
- 20 Oct 2010
TL;DR: In this article, an oscillating circuit is controlled to generate an activation radio signal such that oscillation rise time (T1) is varied depending on randomly generated parameters, and an expected system run time is determined depending on the parameter.
