Abstract: Disclosed is a multicast delay diagnosis method, comprising: a terminal device sending a first domain name parsing request to a network node; receiving a first multicast test address returned by the network node; using the first multicast test address to send a first multicast test join request to the network node, and recording a time point when the first multicast test join request is sent; receiving a first data message returned by the network node, and recording a time point when the first data message is received; according to the time point when the first multicast test join request is sent and the time point when the first data message is received, calculating a first delay generated when the terminal device joins in a multicast test group of the network node; and according to the first delay, determining the quality of a multicast network. Also disclosed is a multicast delay diagnosis apparatus. By means of the embodiments of the present invention, whether the quality of a multicast network has a problem can be rapidly determined, and the quality of the multicast network is improved.
