Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve convenience of a point guide map for performing guidance of a point corresponding to the information collected on the Internet. SOLUTION: An information providing server 100 collects various information based on retrieval conditions specified by a user, and provides a display apparatus 200 with the information. The display apparatus 200 displays a point guide map wherein an icon is indicated at the position corresponding to the information. When information is provided in such a manner, in order to provide a map which is easy to see and in which sufficient amount of information is provided, that is, in order to provide a map wherein icons are not congested or the number of icons is not too small, the information providing server 100 selects information to be displayed out of the retrieved information in accordance with conditions of display such as preset display density and display number of the icons.
