Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing technology allowing accurate and speedy acquisition of three-dimensional information of a required subject part based on a plurality of images imaged and acquired from different view points. SOLUTION: This information processing system having acquired stereo images with a stereo camera firstly performs corresponding point search between the stereo images at a high speed using an SAD (Sum of Absolute Difference) method, and creates range data Gd of the whole image indicating the distance from the stereo camera. Next, the system refers to distance information in the range data Gd, and specifies, in the stereo images, the image region corresponding to persons M1 existing within 50-150 cm, for example, from the stereo camera. Then, the system performs the accurate corresponding point search using a POC (Phase Only Correlation) method only in the specified image region, and acquires the three-dimensional information of the persons M1 required for authentication processing or the like.
