Abstract: W pracy zajmujemy sie zagadnieniem, ktore znane jest powszechnie jako konstrukcja mediany Webera.

- 01 Jan 2013
Abstract: The paper presents the role of the chosen positional measures at different stages of linear ordering. The work shows the application of this positional measures, such as: position coefficient of variation, based on median absolute deviation and Weber’s median as the multidimensional generalization of median. The positional measures are used in the situation when in the diagnostic variables are asymmetric or in the diagnostic set has atypical values. The positional measures can be used at the every stages of linear ordering. Using a method based on the Weber’s median helps to eliminate the distorting effect of outliers, the set of diagnostic features was treated as a whole. The conducted empirical analysis concerned the assessment of quality of life of inhabitants in voivodeships of Poland, on the basis of the information contained in the Social Diagnosis 2011.
Quantitative assessment of urban transport development – a spatial approach
Artur Czech,Anna Biezdudnaja Biezdudnaja,Jerzy Lewczuk,Władimir Razumowskij Razumowskij +3 more
- 01 Mar 2018
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors attempt to assess the urban transport development in selected voivodeships (provinces) as a crucial factor of macro logistics and identify the underdeveloped areas of urban transport in Poland as the basis for the implementation of support policy.
Multidimensional assessment of the European Union transport development in the light of implemented normalization methods

- 01 Dec 2016
TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of different order normalization methods in the synthetic measure construction implemented in the assessment of the development of European Union member states in the area of logistic, especially transportation system is investigated.

Descriptive Statistics for Multivariate Distributions
TL;DR: In this paper, the concepts location, scatter, skewness and kurtosis of multivariate distributions are studied and measures of these properties are introduced which include some new generalizations of well-known univariate statistics.

The weighted Fermat-Torricelli problem for tetrahedra and an inverse problem
TL;DR: In this article, the authors studied the weighted Fermat-Torricelli problem for tetrahedra in R 3 and solved an "inverse" problem by introducing a method of differentiation.

Uniqueness of the spatial median
P. Milasevic,Gilles R. Ducharme +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that if a probability measure on a Euclidean space is not concentrated on a line, then its spatial median is unique in the sense that it is not associated with any point on the line.
The Fermat-Torricelli point and isosceles tetrahedra
Yaakov S. Kupitz,Horst Martini +1 more
TL;DR: An analytical, unifying approach to geometric properties of the Fermat-Torricelli point of four affinely independent points yields several characterizations of isosceles tetrahedra as mentioned in this paper.
