Abstract: Electroweak symmetry breaking may be naturally induced by the observed quark and gauge fields in extra dimensions without a fundamental Higgs field. We show that a composite Higgs doublet can arise as a bound state of $(t, b)_L$ and a linear combination of the Kaluza-Klein states of $t_R$, due to QCD in extra dimensions. The top quark mass depends on the number of active $t_R$ Kaluza-Klein modes, and is consistent with the experimental value.

Strong dynamics and electroweak symmetry breaking
TL;DR: The breaking of electroweak symmetry, and origin of the associated "weak scale" vweak = 1/ q 2 √ 2GF = 175 GeV, may be due to a new strong interaction as mentioned in this paper.

Strong Dynamics and Electroweak Symmetry Breaking
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors review various models and their phenomenological implications which will be subject to definitive tests in future collider runs at the Tevatron, the LHC, and future linear electron-positron colliders, as well as sensitive studies of rare processes.

A Pedagogical Review of Electroweak Symmetry Breaking Scenarios
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors review different avenues of electroweak symmetry breaking explored over the years and present the basic ideas and restrict their illustration to some instructive toy models to provide an intuitive feel of the underlying dynamics, and then discuss how more realistic scenarios are constructed and how to decipher their experimental signatures.

Two Approaches Towards the Flavour Puzzle: Dynamical Minimal Flavour Violation and Warped Extra Dimensions
Michaela Elisabeth Albrecht
- 18 May 2011
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated two approaches towards the flavour puzzle: 1) incorporating the concept of minimal flavour violation, and 2) promoting the Yukawa entries to dynamical spurion fields in an effective field theory.
