A container is formed of a rigid, flat base, a rigid cover, and four vertically arranged, flat wall forming panels that are connected together along their adjacent vertical edges by hinge-like corner connectors and whose upper and lower edges are removably held in corresponding grooves formed in the base and cover. The panels are made of plastic extruded into parallel, spaced apart rigid sheets that are interconnected by numerous, spaced apart, transverse strips whose opposite ends are integral with the sheets. Each corner has a flat, sheet-like base strip that is integrally formed with a flexible center and rigid opposite edge sections that extend along the length of the connector base. Each of the opposite edge sections has an integral T-shaped rib extending along its length. The ribs are inserted endwise into elongated vertical slots formed in the endmost strips of the adjacent panel edges for fastening the connectors to the panels. Additional hinge joints may be formed on the vertical center lines of two opposed panels so that these panels may be folded together for folding the wall panels flat for positioning within the base and encapsulated by the cover for non-use, storage and shipping.

A permanent, reusable, open skeletal-type crate that is permanently erect or collapsible. The crate is constructed to hold an inexpensive tray that is disposable. The tray in turn holds any desired number of individual containers of fluid or otherwise. In the preferred form the crate is collapsible and possesses hinged bottom end pieces that are slidable as allowed by a slot in a bottom strap. The erect crate may receive a tray holding the fluid or other containers with the crate and the tray constituting a system that is delivered to a retail outlet or alternatively the tray with its contents is deposited in the retail outlet. The crate has exceptional stacking strength with special corner posts. However, the crate is weak in the side to side direction and the end to end direction to eliminate uses that are prevelant with present milk crates.

A cleat attaches at each side edge and at the scores on each sheet. The side panels fold as wings to cover portions of the opposing sides of the container while leaving a gap on each side between the side edges of the two opposing side wing-end panels. A top frame is received by the pair of opposing wing-end panels. A method of packaging goods in a container is disclosed.

The waste collecting box of the present invention, once it is fixed on the roadside, can be folded into a flat layered structure. Therefore, if the box is folded when not in use, that is, while collection of wastes is not required, it will not markedly project towards the center of the road, and thus will not disturb the passage of passengers and motor vehicles. The folding and unfolding of the box after installment are quite easily performed through simple manual operations, and the box itself is sufficiently good in appearance as not to disgrace the scenery of the local area. The waste collecting box to be placed on the roadside comprising a rear panel, side panels and a front panel wherein each of the side panels comprises two vertical segments, i.e., posterior and anterior segments jointed rotatably to a central junction such that the two segments can be folded at the junction with the junction moving inward until the two segments overlap with each other to form a flat structure; the rear vertical end of the posterior segment of each side panel is jointed rotatably to the lateral vertical end of the rear panel; and the front vertical end of the anterior segment of each side panel is jointed rotatably to the lateral vertical end of the front panel.
