Abstract: An automatic venting system (10) for an enclosed space such as a vehicle having one or more venting elements (18). The venting system senses precipitation (12) and commands drive means (16) to close the venting element (18) when precipitation is detected and to open the venting element (18) when precipitation ceases, to accomplish passive venting of the enclosed space while minimizing entry of precipitation.
