Abstract: The Multi-Period Multi-Product (MPMP) production planning, as a well known problem in literature, attempts to match production rates of individual products with fluctuated market demand over planning horizon This study, demonstrates how the conventional MPMP Linear Programming (LP) model may fail to utilize available capacity of machines, and also a novel Multi Objective Linear Programming (MOLP) model is developed to simultaneously minimize net present value of production costs and maximize machine utilization The proposed model consists of production constraints such as available labor, inventory, maximum subcontracting levels and also forecasted demands The proposed MOLP model is further converted to a Fuzzy Multi Objective Linear Programming (FMOLP) model utilizing piecewise linear membership functions The model, accommodates the Decision Maker (DM) with a more systematic decision making approach enabling the DM to adjust the search direction during the solving procedure to achieve the most satisf

A group decision making model dealing with comparative linguistic expressions based on hesitant fuzzy linguistic term sets
TL;DR: A new linguistic group decision model is proposed that facilitates the elicitation of flexible and rich linguistic expressions, in particular through the use of comparative linguistic expressions close to human beings' cognitive models for expressing linguistic preferences based on hesitant fuzzy linguistic term sets and context-free grammars.

TL;DR: A fuzzy MODM problem is considered, where all of its parameters are defined fuzzily, and a solution inspired by multi-attribute VIKOR method is proposed, which tries to find fuzzy efficient solution for a problem by minimizing its combinational distance from an ideal and anti-ideal solution.

Application of Fuzzy Optimization to Production-Distribution Planning in Supply Chain Management
TL;DR: In this article, a production-distribution model has been developed that not only allocates the limited available resources and equipment to produce the products over the time periods, but also determines the economical distributors for dispatching the products to the distribution centers or retailers.

Decision-making in a fuzzy environment
Richard Bellman,Lotfi A. Zadeh +1 more
- 01 Jan 1970
TL;DR: A reverse-flow technique is described for the solution of a functional equation arising in connection with a decision process in which the termination time is defined implicitly by the condition that the process stops when the system under control enters a specified set of states in its state space.
Fuzzy programming and linear programming with several objective functions
TL;DR: It is shown that solutions obtained by fuzzy linear programming are always efficient solutions and the consequences of using different ways of combining individual objective functions in order to determine an “optimal” compromise solution are shown.
