Fault Location in Distribution Network by Solving the Optimization Problem Based on Power System Status Estimation Using the PMU
Masoud Dashtdar,Arif Hussain,Hassan Z. Al Garni,Abdullahi Abubakar Mas'ud,Waseem Haider,Kareem M. AboRas,Hossam R. Kotb +6 more
TL;DR: In this article , the authors proposed an optimization problem to determine the fault location by combining PMU data before and after a fault with the power system status estimation (PSSE) problem, and two objective functions are designed to identify the faulty section and fault location based on calculating the voltage difference between the two ends of the grid lines.
State Evaluation Method of Distribution Terminal Based on Deep Reinforcement Learning
TL;DR: A state evaluation method based on deep reinforcement learning is proposed to support the reliable operation of the distribution network and the membership function optimization is introduced into the model to further ensure the accuracy of the state analysis method.

Locating Faults with Ease- A Fault Current Matching Method for Distribution Feeders
Md. Nazrul Islam Siddique,Carlos A. Macana,Krishneel Prakash,Ashish Kumar Karmaker,Saad Mekhilef,Hemanshu R. Pota +5 more
- 03 Dec 2023
TL;DR: Locating faults in large distribution networks is challenging due to limited measurement data. This paper proposes a cost-effective fault current-matching technique that estimates fault location using network data and fault resistance. The method accurately classifies faults and detects faulted line sections with high fault expectancy.
