PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a memory card adapter that enables an existing memory card to perform multitask processing, and data transmission/reception with a portable device of different type.SOLUTION: Upon receiving a first access signal S1 from a wireless transmission/reception unit 14, a processor unit 132 performs changeover connection of a micro SD card 2 stored in a micro SD card slot 11 to the wireless transmission/reception unit 14 by means of a dynamic switch 131. The changeover connection is performed by detecting that a task state of a memory card interface 12 is an idle state. Likewise, upon receiving a second access signal S2 from the memory card interface 12, changeover connection is performed of the micro SD card 2 to the memory card interface 12. The changeover connection is performed by detecting that an operation state of the wireless transmission/reception unit 14 can be interrupted.

A standard size wireless SD memory card adapter comprises a micro SD memory card socket, a processing chip with a dynamic switch, a wireless transmission-reception module and a SD memory slave interface. The micro SD memory socket is connected to external Micro SD Card. The processing chip is electrically connected to the micro SD memory card socket, the SD memory slave interface and the wireless module. The dynamic switch is to arbitrate the access requests to the micro SD card from wireless module and SDmemory slave interface. When there is a request either from wireless transmission-reception module/interface or standard SD slave interface to the dynamic switch, the dynamic switch will raise an interrupt to a processing unit to process the incoming request. The processing unit will process the current card state and arbitration status to instruct how the switch should operate and the request will be granted accordingly.

A card adapter device includes a card slot for receiving a micro SD card therein; a SD interface for coupling electrically to a portable electronic device; a processing chip including a dynamic switch coupled electrically to the card slot and the SD interface, and a processor unit coupled electrically to the dynamic switch; and a wireless transmission/reception interface coupled electrically to the dynamic switch. Upon receiving a first signal from the wireless transmission/reception interface, the dynamic switch detects an operation mode of the SD interface and upon detecting that the SD interface is in an idle mode, the processor unit converts the dynamic switch to be coupled electrically to the wireless transmission/reception interface, thereby enabling the dynamic switch to transfer the first signal to the card slot, which, in turn, enables the wireless transmission/reception interface to access into the SD card.
