PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a lighting system which solves a problem of a short circuit between an upper electrode and a lower electrode of a light emitting element to the utmost without reducing light emitting characteristics at a normal portion of the light emitting element.SOLUTION: In a light emitting element including an upper electrode, an electroluminescent layer and a lower electrode, a short-circuited portion that is undesirably formed between the upper electrode and the lower electrode is irradiated with a laser beam, and thereby, a region where the short-circuited portion is removed is formed, and then the region is filled with a translucent insulating resin. Thus, a problem of the short circuit between the upper electrode and the lower electrode is solved and yield of a lighting system is improved.

SOLUTION: The inverted top emission OLED display includes: first and second pad portions which are arranged on a light generation region arranged on a metal substrate and generates light, and are arranged in the vicinity of the light generation region; a thin film transistor formed on the light generation region; a protective layer arranged on the metal substrate covering a thin film transistor, and includes contact holes each exposing a part of the thin film transistor, a part of the first pad portion, and a part of the second pad portion; first and second conductive patterns which are formed on the protective layer, and come in contact with a part of the thin film transistor exposed via the contact hole; a cathode electrode formed on the light generation region, and electrically connected to the second conductive pattern; an organic light emitting layer arranged on the cathode electrode; an anode electrode arranged on the organic light emitting layer, and formed with a transparent conductive metal; and electrode patterns formed with the same material as the second conductive pattern on each of the contact holes which expose the first and second pad portions. The present invention prevents a reduction in local brightness in defective parts of pixel electrodes by a rapid and simple method. The present invention provides a method for manufacturing an organic EL panel which has a TFT panel and organic EL elements disposed in a matrix formed on the surface of the TFT panel and comprising a pixel electrode, an organic functional layer disposed on the pixel electrode, and a counter electrode disposed on the organic functional layer. This method comprises: a step for preparing the TFT panel; a step for patterning the pixel electrode on the surface of the TFT panel; a step for detecting defective parts in the pixel electrode that expose the surface of the TFT panel; a step for irradiating with laser light the surface of the TFT panel where exposed because of defects in the pixel electrode and roughening the surface of the TFT panel; a step for forming the organic functional layer on the pixel electrode and on the surface of the TFT panel where exposed because of the defects in the pixel electrode; and a step for forming the counter electrode on the organic functional film.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a defective pixel repair method for repairing a defective pixel in an inexpensive, simple and easy manner, and to provide a display device in which the defective pixel is repaired by the method. SOLUTION: The display device 10 having pixels arrayed on a support substrate 12 is characterized in that a light scattering property is imparted by energy selectively applied from the outside to at least one member arranged on the light extraction side of the defective pixel 22b coming into a put-out state at all times among the pixels. Preferably, a heat sensitive layer 24 is provided which changes from a transparent state to a light scattering state when heated to a level of a specified temperature or higher. An inspection for specifying the defective pixel coming into the put-out state at all times among the pixels arrayed on the support substrate is performed, and the light scattering property is imparted by selectively applying the energy from the outside to at least one member arranged on the light extraction side of the defective pixel specified by the inspection.
