The defrosting control method comprises the following steps: judging whether the heat pump system meets the condition of starting a strong defrosting mode or not after the heat pump system starts a common defrosting mode, and if yes, controlling a fan matched with a heat exchanger to rotate reversely; and judging whether the heat pump system meets the condition of exiting the strong defrosting mode or not, if yes, controlling the heat pump system to exit the strong defrosting mode. According to the defrosting control method, the strong defrosting mode is added, and the heat of the heat exchanger is blown to a frost layer which is relatively far away from the heat exchanger through the reverse rotation of the fan in the strong defrosting mode, so that the frost layer which is relatively far away from the surface of the heat exchanger is able to be molten under the action of hot air, then no frost accumulates on the heat exchanger to affect the heat exchange effect, and meanwhile, the reliability of a heat pump unit is also improved.

The freezing of the water side heat exchanger caused by a strong suction effect on the refrigerant in opening of a compressor is prevented.
