SIRT1 Overexpression Antagonizes Cellular Senescence with Activated ERK/S6k1 Signaling in Human Diploid Fibroblasts
TL;DR: Findings suggested that SIRT1-promoted cell proliferation and antagonized cellular senescence in human diploid fibroblasts may be, in part, via the activation of ERK/ S6K1 signaling.
Sp1 Is Essential for p16INK4a Expression in Human Diploid Fibroblasts during Senescence
TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that a potential Sp1 binding site, within the promoter region from -466 to -451, acts as a positive transcription regulatory element, and the enhanced binding of Sp1 to the p16(INK4a) promoter during cellular senescence appeared to be the result of increased SP1 binding affinity, not an alteration in Sp1 protein level.
The two isomers of HDTIC compounds from Astragali Radix slow down telomere shortening rate via attenuating oxidative stress and increasing DNA repair ability in human fetal lung diploid fibroblast cells.
TL;DR: The results suggest that HDTIC compounds slow down the telomere shortening rate of 2BS cells, which is mainly due to the biological properties of the compounds including the reduction of DNA damage and the improvement of DNA repair ability.
