A toner suitable for use in an image forming method including a contact charging step is provided. The toner includes: toner particles comprising at least a binder resin and a colorant, and fine particles. The fine particles comprise: (i) a tungsten-containing tin oxide, or (ii) base particles, and a tungsten-containing tin compound coating the base particles, the fine particles contain tin (Sn) in a weight ratio (Sn/b) of 0.01 to 2.0 with respect to the base particles (B). In the fine particles, tungsten (W) is contained in a mol ratio (W/Sn) of 0.001 to 0.3 with respect to the tin (Sn).

Distances from the respective mirrors to the respective image-carrying members being equal to one another.

An image forming apparatus includes a main body, and a developer cartridge configured to be attachable to and detachable from the main body. SOLUTION: This image forming device is provided with a plurality of photoreceptors 210Bk, 210C, 210M and 210Y for every color, developing devices 200Bk, 200C, 200M and 200Y for every color by which an electrostatic latent image formed on the photoreceptor is made a visible image with toner, the intermediate transfer belt 220 to which the visible image is primarily transferred to form a laminated image, and an intermediate transfer belt cleaning device 260 for removing the residual toner remaining on the belt 220 after the laminated image is secondarily transferred to transfer material. The cleaning device 260 is provided with cleaning members 261 and 262 for electrostatically attracting and removing the residual toner and bias applying means 267 and 268 for applying bias to the cleaning member.

Then, for example, the surface of the intermediate transfer body 10 is cleaned by applying (+) bias by the fur brush 90 that is disposed on the upstream side in the direction of rotation of the intermediate transfer body 10 and next, (-) bias by a fur brush 91 that is disposed on the downstream side. The toner that was not eliminated by the cleaning device 17 is transferred in reverse to the side of a photosensitive body 40BK at a primary transfer position.

Thus, reliability on the stabilization of carrier characteristic and the stabilization of developing characteristic by preventing toner spending and the shaving of the surface layer film of the carrier is improved and the cost of the developer (carrier) is restrained synthetically.

Meanwhile, the paper sticking matter removing device 112 is provided in the upper stream of the image transfer position (a) in the sheet conveyance path P. The paper sticking matter removing device is equipped with a brush roller composed of, for example, a brush as a paper sticking matter removing member. Further, the device is equipped with an electric field applying means which applies an electric field.
