PNAS-4, an Early DNA Damage Response Gene, Induces S Phase Arrest and Apoptosis by Activating Checkpoint Kinases in Lung Cancer Cells
Zhu Yuan,Wenhao Guo,Jun Yang,Lei Li,Meiliang Wang,Yi Lei,Yang Wan,Xinyu Zhao,Na Luo,Ping Cheng,Xinyu Liu,Chunlai Nie,Yong Peng,Aiping Tong,Yuquan Wei +14 more
TL;DR: The findings suggest a novel mechanism by which elevated PNAS-4 first causes DNA-dependent protein kinase-mediated Chk1/2 activation and then results in inhibition of the Cdc25A-CDK2-cyclin E/A pathway, ultimately causing S phase arrest and apoptosis in lung cancer cells.

Ginsenoside CK, rather than Rb1, possesses potential chemopreventive activities in human gastric cancer via regulating PI3K/AKT/NF-κB signal pathway
TL;DR: Ginsenoside Rb1 had no anti-gastric cancer cell activity in vitro, but ginsenosides CK could effectively inhibit cell proliferation and induce cell apoptosis in HGC-27 cells.
Can aloin develop to medicines or healthcare products?
Yu Yang,Jiao Wu,Jia Xia,Yang Wan,Jin-feng Xu,Li Zhang,Yongmei Liu,Lu Chen,Fei Tang,Hui Ao,Cheng Peng +10 more
- 01 Sep 2022
TL;DR: In this article , a comprehensive review of the potential of aloin as medicines and healthcare products is presented, where the availability, pharmacological activities, pharmacokinetics, formulation studies, and toxicity of Aloin are summarized after investigating the literature from PubMed, Google, and other databases.

Therapeutic potential of dietary flavonoid hyperoside against non-communicable diseases: targeting underlying properties of diseases.
Jia Xia,Yang Wan,Jiao Wu,Yu Yang,Jin-feng Xu,Li Zhang,Yongmei Liu,Lu Chen,Fei Tang,Hui Ao,Cheng Peng +10 more
TL;DR: The findings reveal that the anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory activities regulated by Hyp are associated with numerous biological mechanisms, including positive regulation of mitochondrial function, apoptosis, autophagy, and higher-level biological damage activities.
