Performance-Monitoring-Based Traffic-Aware Virtual Machine Deployment on NUMA Systems
TL;DR: This paper proposes a traffic-aware VM optimization (TAVO) scheme on NUMA systems based on the performance monitoring of the data traffic and CPU/memory resource usages in the system and shows that TAVO improves VM performance in terms of benchmark runtime by up to 22.6% compared with the default KVM CFS scheduler.

A practical cross-datacenter fault-tolerance algorithm in the cloud storage system
TL;DR: The experimental results showed that the proposed DFC-CDFT algorithm can effectively recover data blocks from the single datacenter failure while achieves low storage and bandwidth costs.

- 30 Jul 2014
TL;DR: In this article, a virtual machine coexisting scheduling method based on processor performance monitoring is proposed, which is based on performance events provided by a hardware processor performance monitor unit and based on pressure values and tolerance degrees of VCPUs (Virtual Central Processing Units) running on a multi-core physical server.

Virtual machine scheduling method based on coexisting coefficient balance
Zonghui Wang,Yuxia Cheng,Wenzhi Chen,Xinjie Yu,Jin Rui +4 more
- 30 Jul 2014
TL;DR: In this article, a virtual machine scheduling method based on coexisting coefficient balance is proposed, which is based on pressure values and tolerance degrees of virtual central processing units (VCPUs) running on a multi-core physical server, calculating to obtain the pressure coefficients and tolerance coefficients of the VCPUs.
