Production and characterization of a single-chain variable fragment antibody from a site-saturation mutagenesis library derived from the anti-Cry1A monoclonal antibody
Sa Dong,Meijing Gao,Zongyi Bo,Lingjun Guan,Xiaodan Hu,Hanxiaoya Zhang,Beibei Liu,Pan Li,He Kangli,Xianjin Liu,Cunzheng Zhang +10 more
TL;DR: Results indicated the promising prospect of scFv-2G12 used for the detection of Cry1A toxins.

Broad specificity immunoassay for detection of Bacillus thuringiensis Cry toxins through engineering of a single chain variable fragment with mutagenesis and screening.
Jianfeng Zhong,Xiaodan Hu,Xiao Zhang,Yuan Liu,Chongxin Xu,Cunzheng Zhang,Manman Lin,Xianjin Liu +7 more
TL;DR: An approach using a site-directed mutagenesis that enhances the generic specificity of single chain variable fragment (scFv) is described, suggesting that the immunoassay based on a scFv is a promising approach for detection of Cry toxins with a broad specificity.
12
Synergistic selection of a Helicoverpa armigera cadherin fragment with Cry1Ac in different cells and insects
TL;DR: Cadherin fragments which have high binding level with Cry1Ac are more likely to enhance toxin toxicity well against the cells or larvae where the cadherin has lower binding levels, especially in the cases lacking the toxin binding domain.

Identification of a Cry1Fa binding site of cadherin in Plutella xylostella through fragment exchanging and molecular docking methods.
Meijing Gao,Xiaodan Hu,Xiao Zhang,Jianfeng Zhong,Lina Lu,Yuan Liu,Sa Dong,Yun Wang,Xianjin Liu +8 more
TL;DR: The results suggested that a combination of computer-aided molecular docking and fragment exchanging is an effective way to locate the key binding sites of Bt toxins in receptors.

Expression of Cry1Ac toxin-binding region in Plutella xyllostella cadherin-like receptor and studying their interaction mode by molecular docking and site-directed mutagenesis.
Xiaodan Hu,Xiao Zhang,Jianfeng Zhong,Yuan Liu,Cunzheng Zhang,Xie Yajing,Manman Lin,Chongxin Xu,Lina Lu,Qing Zhu,Xianjin Liu +10 more
TL;DR: This study successfully expressed the putative Cry1Ac toxin-binding region (CR7-CR11) of Plutella xylostella cadherin-like in Escherichia coli BL21 (DE3) and verified the importance role of these key amino acid residues by binding assay.
