Recent progress in electrodes for microbial fuel cells.
TL;DR: A review of recent advances in electrode material and a configuration of both the anode and cathode in MFCs are provided and the modification methods for the anodic electrode are summarized.

A new method for water desalination using microbial desalination cells.
TL;DR: It is shown here that water desalination can be accomplished without electrical energy input or high water pressure by using a source of organic matter as the fuel to desalinate water.

A novel ZnO nanoparticle blended polyvinylidene fluoride membrane for anti-irreversible fouling
TL;DR: In this paper, a novel anti-irreversible fouling polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) membrane was successfully fabricated using the wet phase separation methods and nano-ZnO, with different dosages ranging from 6.7% to 26.7%, was blended as an additive into the membrane matrix for the modification of the internal surfaces of membrane pores.

Microplastics in a municipal wastewater treatment plant: Fate, dynamic distribution, removal efficiencies, and control strategies
TL;DR: Wang et al. as mentioned in this paper investigated the fate and control strategies of MPs in wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) with two parallel wastewater treatment systems, i.e., oxidation ditch (OD) and membrane bioreactor (MBR), and found that MP concentrations increased across the treatment systems depending on facility of treatment process.
416
Current state and challenges of full-scale membrane bioreactor applications: A critical review.
TL;DR: The pros, cons and progress in full-scale MBR applications are summarized and the future challenges of MBR application are outlined from the perspectives of fouling control, pollutant removal, cost-effectiveness and competitiveness in specific fields of application.
