Photoactivated CRY1 and phyB Interact Directly with AUX/IAA Proteins to Inhibit Auxin Signaling in Arabidopsis
Feng Xu,Shengbo He,Jingyi Zhang,Zhilei Mao,Wenxiu Wang,Ting Li,Jie Hua,Shasha Du,Pengbo Xu,Ling Li,Hongli Lian,Hong-Quan Yang +11 more
TL;DR: This work reports that light inhibits auxin signaling through stabilization of AUX/IAAs by blue and red light-dependent interactions of cryptochrome 1 and phytochrome B with AUX-IAAs, respectively, and proposes that antagonistic regulation of AUx/IAA protein stability by photoreceptors and auxin receptors allows plants to balance light and Auxin signals to optimize their growth.

Photoexcited CRYPTOCHROME1 Interacts with Dephosphorylated BES1 to Regulate Brassinosteroid Signaling and Photomorphogenesis in Arabidopsis
Wenxiu Wang,Xue-Dan Lu,Ling Li,Hongli Lian,Zhilei Mao,Pengbo Xu,Tongtong Guo,Feng Xu,Shasha Du,Xiaoli Cao,Sheng Wang,Hongyun Shen,Hong-Quan Yang +12 more
TL;DR: This study suggests that the blue light-dependent, BR-induced interaction of CRY1 with BES1 is a tightly regulated mechanism by which plants optimize photomorphogenesis according to the availability of external light and internal BR signals.
Photoexcited CRY1 and phyB interact directly with ARF6 and ARF8 to regulate their DNA-binding activity and auxin-induced hypocotyl elongation in Arabidopsis
Zhilei Mao,Shengbo He,Feng Xu,Xuxu Wei,Lu Jiang,Yao Liu,Wenxiu Wang,Ting Li,Pengbo Xu,Shasha Du,Ling Li,Hongli Lian,Tongtong Guo,Hong-Quan Yang +13 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that the direct repression of auxin-responsive gene expression mediated by the interactions of CRY1 and phyB with ARFs constitutes a new layer of the regulatory mechanisms by which light inhibits Auxin-induced hypocotyl elongation.

The CNT1 Domain of Arabidopsis CRY1 Alone Is Sufficient to Mediate Blue Light Inhibition of Hypocotyl Elongation
Shengbo He,Wenxiu Wang,Jingyi Zhang,Feng Xu,Hongli Lian,Ling Li,Hong-Quan Yang,Hong-Quan Yang +7 more
TL;DR: Cryptochromes are photolyase-like blue light receptors that mediate various light responses in plants and animals and are known to bind chromophores to sense blue light and mediate CRY dimerization.

phyB Interacts with BES1 to Regulate Brassinosteroid Signaling in Arabidopsis
Jun Wu,Wenxiu Wang,Pengbo Xu,Jian Pan,Ting Zhang,Yang Li,Guowei Li,Hong-Quan Yang,Hongli Lian +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the Arabidopsis red light receptor phyB is involved in inhibition of brassinosteroids (BR) signaling via its direct interaction with the BR transcription factor BES1.
