Terahertz emission and detection both based on high-Tc superconductors: Towards an integrated receiver
D. Y. An,Jinshi Yuan,Nickolay V. Kinev,M. Y. Li,Yan Huang,Min Ji,H. Zhang,Z. L. Sun,Lin Kang,Biaobing Jin,Jian Chen,Jun Li,B. Gross,Akira Ishii,Kazuto Hirata,T. Hatano,Valery P. Koshelets,Dieter Koelle,Reinhold Kleiner,Huabing Wang,Weiwei Xu,P. H. Wu +21 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a stand-alone Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 intrinsic Josephson junction stack, emitting terahertz radiation, was combined with a YBa2Cu3O7 grain boundary junction acting as detector.
Superconducting terahertz metamaterials mimicking electromagnetically induced transparency
Jingbo Wu,Biaobing Jin,Jie Wan,Lanju Liang,Yonggang Zhang,Tao Jia,Chunhai Cao,Lin Kang,Weiwei Xu,Jian Chen,Peiheng Wu +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a planar terahertz (THz) metamaterial made from superconducting NbN films was designed and fabricated to mimic electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) system.

Low Loss and Magnetic Field-tuned Superconducting THz Metamaterial
Biaobing Jin,Caihong Zhang,Sebastian Engelbrecht,Andrei Pimenov,Jingbo Wu,Qinyin Xu,Chunhai Cao,Jian Chen,Weiwei Xu,Lin Kang,Peiheng Wu +10 more
TL;DR: The tuning of superconducting terahertz MM by a magnetic field is demonstrated, which offers an alternative tuning method apart from the existing electric, optical and thermal tuning methods.

Label-free measurements on cell apoptosis using a terahertz metamaterial-based biosensor
Caihong Zhang,Lanju Liang,Ding Liang,Biaobing Jin,Hou Yayi,Chun Li,Ling Jiang,Weiwei Liu,Wei Hu,Yan-qing Lu,Lin Kang,Weiwei Xu,Jian Chen,Peiheng Wu +13 more
TL;DR: This work employs a terahertz metamaterial-based biosensor to an oral cancer cell with and without cisplatin, a chemotherapy drug for cancer treatment, and finds a linear relation between cell apoptosis measured by Flow Cytometry and the relative change of resonant frequencies of the meetamaterial measured by THz time-domain spectroscopy.
102
Tuning of superconducting niobium nitride terahertz metamaterials.
Jingbo Wu,Biaobing Jin,Yu-hua Xue,Caihong Zhang,Hao Dai,Labao Zhang,Chunhai Cao,Lin Kang,Weiwei Xu,Jian Chen,Peiheng Wu +10 more
TL;DR: It is found that, as the resonance frequency approaches f(g), the relative tuning range of MMs is quite wide, and this observation is attributed to the large change of kinetic inductance of superconducting film.
