Realistic Simulation of Rice Plant
TL;DR: Wang et al. as mentioned in this paper presented a technique to visually simulate the architecture of rice panicle and its growth process based on the analysis of the morphological characteristics at different stages, and the experimental results showed that the proposed methods of modeling the three-dimensional shapes of organs and simulating the growth of rice plant are feasible and effective.

Simulating superior genotypes for plant height based on QTLs: Towards virtual breeding of rice
Lifeng Xu,Weilong Ding,Jun Zhu,Michael Henke,Winfried Kurth,Gerhard Buck-Sorlin +5 more
- 01 Oct 2012
TL;DR: It is shown that the rice model faithfully reflected the genetic properties from the parental lines with low bias, which suggests a reasonable way to integrate QTLs into the plant eco-physiological model with the predictive properties.

Simulation and visualization of spraying droplets behavior and deposition within virtual rice canopy
TL;DR: In this article , a method to model and visualize spray transmission and deposition within the canopy of rice plants was proposed, where a particle system was used to simulate the spraying scene of droplets and an improved method to determine the behavior of rebound and shatter of the droplets in the virtual scene was proposed.
A visualization system for rice plant modeling
Weilong Ding,Yuping Zhang,Yuanwei Zhu,Zhijun Cheng,Defeng Zhu +4 more
- 09 Sep 2010
TL;DR: A powerful and convenient rice plant modeling system is developed with the integrated platform of Visual C++ 6.0 and OpenGL and surface-rendering techniques in Computer Graphics are used to render the created shapes of rice plant at both organ and individual levels.
