Sound control and audio output systems and methods for an entertainment venue are described. The venue includes immersive display and sound elements. Prevention of acoustic reflections and level of audio immersion are enhanced with the described systems and techniques.

Immersive sound system

A multi-sensory module array system for enhancing the experience of members of the audience at entertainment events through the stimulation of a plurality of the senses of sight, sound, touch, taste and smell independent of their location or proximity to a live or recorded performance at one or more venues. In one aspect, the multi-sensory module array system includes a first zone having a first set of multi-sensory entertainment module spaced apart from each other and defining a first diamond configuration, wherein the modules are configured to emit one or more sensory outputs within the first zone. The system can further include a second zone having a second set of multi-sensory entertainment modules spaced apart from each other and defining a second diamond configuration and further configured to emit the sensory outputs within the second zone. Here, at least one of the modules can be shared between the first set and second set. In addition, the amplitude or magnitude of the sensory outputs within the first zone can be substantially the same with respect to the second zone.

A protection management unit is described that detects one or more poor performing transducers in a loudspeaker array. Upon detection of one or more poor performing transducers, the protection management unit adjusts driving signals for neighboring transducers to compensate for the reduced capabilities of the poor performing transducers. By adjusting driving signals to neighboring transducers, the protection management unit ensures that a desired tone and spatial response for sound emitted by the loudspeaker array is maintained despite one or more poor performing transducers. Other embodiments are also described.

Apparatuses and methods for enhancing the multisensory experience of the members of the audience at entertainment venues are disclosed The inventions disclosed herein permit an audience member to receive sensory stimulation of the senses of sound, sight, smell, touch, or taste through multisensory entertainment modules positioned on a structure so that each audience member is within a maximum optimal distance from one or more multisensory entertainment modules An object of the inventions is to provide each attendee at an entertainment event with a multisensory experience of similar quality to that of every other attendee

Multidirectional Sensory Array

A layout of line speakers reduces feedback and provides more uniform sound amplification throughout a listening area. The length of one or more line speakers is selected so that the line speakers behave as line acoustic sources throughout a listening area. The line speakers are further positioned so that a stage area is located in a null zone of each line speaker to minimize the likelihood of feedback events.
