Proteomic profiles in acute respiratory distress syndrome differentiates survivors from non-survivors.
Maneesh Bhargava,Trisha Becker,Kevin J. Viken,Pratik D. Jagtap,Sanjoy Dey,Michael Steinbach,Baolin Wu,Vipin Kumar,Peter B. Bitterman,David H. Ingbar,Christine H. Wendt +10 more
TL;DR: The bronchoalveolar lavage fluid proteome is probed to identify proteins that differentiate survivors from non-survivors of ARDS, revealing dynamic changes in the BALF proteome as the lung heals.
Protein expression profile of rat type two alveolar epithelial cells during hyperoxic stress and recovery
Maneesh Bhargava,Sanjoy Dey,Trisha Becker,Michael Steinbach,Baolin Wu,Sang Mee Lee,LeeAnn Higgins,Vipin Kumar,Peter B. Bitterman,David H. Ingbar,Christine H. Wendt +10 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that coherent changes occur in the AT2 cell proteome in response to hyperoxic stress, and this findings offer guidance regarding the specific molecular mechanisms governing repair of the injured lung.

Human neutrophil peptide in lung chronic allograft dysfunction.
TL;DR: Human neutrophil peptide levels are elevated early and persistently in those that develop BOS and the effect of potential confounders did not significantly impact BOS-free survival time.

- 08 Oct 2015
TL;DR: Lung transplant is an effective therapy, however, long-term survival is currently limited due to the high rate of bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome, and the longitudinal biological changes that occur after lung transplant are limited.
