TL;DR: In this article, the authors study the determinants for the choice of capital budgeting methods and the setting of hurdle rates in five Nordic countries and find support for a significant positive hurdle rate premium (i.e., a hurdle rate higher than motivated by economic theory).

TL;DR: In this article, the use of derivatives for profit seeking versus those of hedging was investigated in a sample of listed firms from four Nordic countries, and it was found that over half of the firms give some weight for additional income as a reason for using derivatives.
