Impaired activation of the Nrf2-ARE signaling pathway undermines H2O2-induced oxidative stress response: a possible mechanism for melanocyte degeneration in vitiligo.
Zhe Jian,Kai Li,Pu Song,Guannan Zhu,Longfei Zhu,Tingting Cui,Bangmin Liu,Lingzhen Tang,Xiaowen Wang,Gang Wang,Tianwen Gao,Chunying Li +11 more
TL;DR: It is found that vitiligo melanocytes exhibited hypersensitivity to H2O2-induced oxidative injury because of reduced Nrf2 nuclear translocation and transcriptional activity, which led to decreased HO-1 expression and aberrant redox balance.

SIRT3-Dependent Mitochondrial Dynamics Remodeling Contributes to Oxidative Stress-Induced Melanocyte Degeneration in Vitiligo.
Xiuli Yi,Weinan Guo,Qiong Shi,Yuqi Yang,Weigang Zhang,Xuguang Chen,Pan Kang,Jiaxi Chen,Tingting Cui,J. Ma,Huina Wang,Sen Guo,Yuqian Chang,Ling Liu,Zhe Jian,Lin Wang,Xiao Qian,Shuli Li,Tianwen Gao,Chunying Li +19 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that SIRT3-dependent mitochondrial dynamics remodeling contributes to oxidative stress-induced melanocyte degeneration in vitiligo, and honokiol is promising in preventing oxidative Stress-induced Vitiligo melanocyte apoptosis.

Dysregulated autophagy increased melanocyte sensitivity to H 2 O 2-induced oxidative stress in vitiligo
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that dysregulated autophagy owing to the impairment of Nrf2-p62 pathway increase the sensitivity of vitiligo melanocytes to oxidative stress, thus promote the development of Vitiligo.
Baicalein protects human vitiligo melanocytes from oxidative stress through activation of NF-E2-related factor2 (Nrf2) signaling pathway.
Jingjing Ma,Shuli Li,Longfei Zhu,Sen Guo,Xiuli Yi,Tingting Cui,Yuanmin He,Yuqian Chang,Bangmin Liu,Chunying Li,Zhe Jian +10 more
TL;DR: It is found that baicalein effectively inhibited H2O2‐induced cytotoxicity and apoptosis in human vitiligo melanocytes (PIG3V), and results demonstrated that baicalsein promoted Nrf2 nucleus translocation as well as up‐regulated the expression of NRF2 and its target gene, heme oxygenase‐1 (HO‐1) during oxidative stress.

Oxidative Stress-Induced HMGB1 Release from Melanocytes: A Paracrine Mechanism Underlying the Cutaneous Inflammation in Vitiligo.
Tingting Cui,Weigang Zhang,Shuli Li,Xuguang Chen,Yuqian Chang,Xiuli Yi,Pan Kang,Yuqi Yang,Jiaxi Chen,Ling Liu,Zhe Jian,Kai Li,Gang Wang,Tianwen Gao,Pu Song,Chunying Li +15 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that HMGB1 released from melanocytes contributes to the formation of oxidative stress-induced autoimmunity in vitiligo.
