Pseudo-random trees in Monte Carlo
Paul O. Frederickson,Robert Hiromoto,Thomas L. Jordan,Burton J. Smith,Tony Warnock +4 more
- 01 Dec 1984
TL;DR: Pseudo-random trees can be used to give reproducibility, as well as speed, in Monte Carlo computations on parallel computers with either the SIMD architecture of the current generation of supercomputer or the MIMD architecture characteristic of the next generation.

Conjugate gradient preconditioners for vector and parallel processors
Thomas L. Jordan
- 01 Jan 1984
TL;DR: This chapter discusses conjugate gradient preconditioners for vector and parallel processors, which include Jacobi, incomplete Cholesky, polynomial approximation, blockJacobi, and block cyclic reduction.

Solving Very Large Elliptic Problems on a Supercomputer with Solid State Disk
TL;DR: In this paper, a linear system of size 45/sup 3/ resulting from the 27-point finite difference discretization of a three-dimensional elliptic operator is solved by a conjugate gradient algorithm on one processor of a Cray X-MP with attached 8M-word SSD.
