Clocking the Ultrafast Electron Cooling in Anatase Titanium Dioxide Nanoparticles
TL;DR: In this paper, the interplay between many-body interactions and correlations in highly excited anatase TiO2 nanoparticles using ultrafast two-dimensional deep-ultraviolet spectroscopy was investigated.

Interfacial Electron Injection Probed by a Substrate-Specific Excitonic Signature
Edoardo Baldini,Tania Palmieri,Thomas Rossi,Malte Oppermann,Enrico Pomarico,Gerald Auböck,Majed Chergui +6 more
TL;DR: The use of deep-ultraviolet continuum pulses to probe the interfacial electron transfer, by detecting a specific excitonic transition in both N719-sensitized anatase TiO2 and wurtzite ZnO nanoparticles, offers a possible route to detecting interfaces in a broad class of systems, including other transition metal oxides or sensitizers.

Giant exciton mott density in anatase TiO2
Edoardo Baldini,Edoardo Baldini,Tania Palmieri,Adriel Dominguez,Angel Rubio,Angel Rubio,Majed Chergui +6 more
TL;DR: A unique combination of many-body perturbation theory and state-of-the-art ultrafast broadband ultraviolet spectroscopy is presented to unveil the interplay between the ultraviolet-absorbing two-dimensional excitons of anatase TiO_{2} and a sea of electron-hole pairs.

Exciton Control in a Room-Temperature Bulk Semiconductor with Coherent Strain Pulses
Edoardo Baldini,Adriel Dominguez,Tania Palmieri,Oliviero Cannelli,Angel Rubio,Angel Rubio,Pascal Ruello,Majed Chergui +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors performed ultrafast broadband deep-ultraviolet spectroscopy on anatase TiO$_2$ single crystals at room temperature, and revealed a dramatic modulation of the exciton peak amplitude due to coherent acoustic phonons.
