A guide plate (30) for a shift lever device is provided with an elastic member (34) having formed therein an operation hole (35) for guiding the movement of a shift lever (2) while restricting the range of movement thereof. The elastic member also includes impact absorption mechanisms (43, 44, 47) formed thereon. The impact absorption mechanisms include slits (45, 46, 48) which are provided near the operation hole, receiving sections (43a, 44a, 47a) which are provided closer to the operation hole than the slits and which can absorb the impact of the shift lever, and stopper sections (43b, 44b, 47b) which are provided at the slits at positions on the rear surface side of the receiving sections and which support the denting deformation of the receiving sections.

The present invention relates to a control element, in particular, a switching device, for manually controlling and/or activating functions in a motor vehicle, comprising a lever. The lever is mounted on a support such that the lever can be adjusted in at least one direction from a neutral position to an adjustment position. The lever interacts with a pressure element which is guided in a gate track of a gate and is resiliently loaded, in particular, in such a way that a return force in the direction of the neutral position acts on the lever when it is adjusted. A cam is present in the gate. The cam, in the neutral position, acts upon the lever in order to reduce play such that the lever is biased in the direction towards the adjustment position.

SOLUTION: The shift lever device has the moderating mechanism and the automatic returning mechanism. At automatic returning, a tongue part 60B of a damper 60 is engaged with a storage cylinder 33, impact of a detent rod 30 is shock-absorbed by elastic force of the tongue part 60B and the collision sound (hitting sound) of the detent rod 30 is prevented and suppressed. Further, impact of an operation lever and other members (for example, guide groove 38, etc.) are also shock-absorbed and the collision sound (hitting sound) caused by collision of the operation lever itself is also prevented and suppressed. Further, since a housing lever guide 36 (detent groove 42) and the detent rod 30 sliding each other are made of resin, a sound pressure when both members slide each other becomes soft and operation feeling (touch) is enhanced. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shifter of an automatic transmission having a lever contact sound prevention part which prevents the increase of components, simplifies the assembly process, and is manufactured at low costs.SOLUTION: A shifter of an automatic transmission includes: a device body; and a shift lever. The device body includes: a housing 3 having gates 21 to 23; and a lever contact sound prevention part 5. The shift lever includes: a lever shaft; and an engagement piece 41b. The lever contact sound prevention part 5 includes: a shaft contact sound prevention part 52 which prevents contact sound occurring between the lever shaft inserted into the gates 21 to 23 and the device body; and an engagement piece contact sound prevention part 53 which is integrally formed with the shaft contact sound prevention part 52 and prevents contact sound occurring between the engagement piece 41b and the device body. The housing 3 and the lever contact sound prevention part 5 are formed by two-color molding.

SOLUTION: A speed change operating device is so constructed that a shift lever 13 is turned in a preset shift gate to enable switching of the speed change state of a vehicle, and when the shift lever 13 is moved to the end part of the shift gate, it is brought into contact with a guide part 37 disposed in the periphery of a shift block 38 to be held. In this case, the guide part 37 is provided with contact parts 41a, 41b where the lower part of the shift lever 13 is brought into contact to regulate the movement, and with space parts 44a, 44b as a deformation absorbing part for absorbing the contact force when the shift lever 13 is brought into contact with the contact parts 41a, 41b....
