Tamoxifen-resistant breast cancers show less frequent methylation of the estrogen receptor β but not the estrogen receptor α gene
Ho Gun Chang,Sun Jung Kim,Ki Wook Chung,Dong-Young Noh,Youngmee Kwon,Eun Sook Lee,Han Sung Kang +6 more
TL;DR: The results support the hypothesis that hypermethylation of the ERβ gene negatively affects the development of tamoxifen resistance and indicate that there is an inverse relationship between the methylation rate of theERβ gene and tamoxIFen resistance.

Interleukin-10 up-regulates tumour-necrosis-factor-α-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL) gene expression in mammary epithelial cells at the involution stage
Bo Hwa Sohn,Hyung Bae Moon,Tae Yoon Kim,Han Sung Kang,Yun Soo Bae,Kyung Kwang Lee,Sun Jung Kim +6 more
TL;DR: Results indicate that the elevated expression of IL-10 at the involution stage recruits lymphocytes and induces the expression of TRAIL and DR4, which might partly contribute to apoptosis in the mammary epithelial cells for entering involution.
Methylation patterns of genes coding for drug-metabolizing enzymes in tamoxifen-resistant breast cancer tissues
Sun Jung Kim,Han-Sung Kang,So-Youn Jung,Sun Young Min,Seeyoun Lee,Seok Won Kim,Youngmee Kwon,Keun Seok Lee,Kyung Hwan Shin,Jungsil Ro +9 more
TL;DR: The higher methylation rate of the NAT1 gene is related to tamoxifen resistance, and this fact supports the hypothesis that hypermethylation of theNAT1 gene might affect the initiation of tamoxIFen resistance.

Hypomethylation of the interleukin-10 gene in breast cancer tissues
Keun Su Son,Han Sung Kang,Sun Jung Kim,So Youn Jung,Sun Young Min,See Youn Lee,Seok Won Kim,Youngmee Kwon,Keun Seok Lee,Kyung Hwan Shin,Jungsil Ro +10 more
TL;DR: IL-10 methylation in cancer tissues is lower than that in normal and benign breast tissues, and DNA hypomethylation in the gene influences gene activation, suggesting that hypometHylation of the IL-10 gene can be involved in the process of breast carcinogenesis.

High level expression of the bioactive human interleukin-10 in milk of transgenic mice
TL;DR: Interestingly, transgenes in all the eight transgenic mice were expressed regardless of the integration site even though no correlation was shown between the copy numbers of the transgene and expression level, suggesting that the genomic sequence of the human IL-10 gene can induce theIL-10 expression at high levels under the control of the bovine beta-casein promoter.
