In one embodiment, a method includes receiving a request for a web page, sending a first response portion for generating the requested web page to a client computing device that includes a structured document including a page-assembling process, generating one or more second response portions each for generating a corresponding portion of the requested web page that each include a call to the page-assembling process, transmitting the second response portions to the client computing device, and wherein the page-assembling process is configured to, responsive to a call corresponding to a respective second response portion, insert, or cause to be inserted, content, resources, or calls to resources included in the respective second response portion into a model representation of the structured document generated by a client rendering application at a location in the model representation determined by a corresponding place-holder code segment included in the structured document.

Method includes receiving a request for a web page, identifying one or more resource portions stored in a cache, each resource portion corresponding to a portion of a structured document for use to render the requested web page, determining whether the web page was requested within a predetermined time threshold since a previous request for the web page, if requested within the predetermined time threshold, instructing the requested web page to be rendered using the one or more resource portions stored in the cache and refreshing the one or more resource portions, if not requested within the predetermined time threshold, regenerating the one or more resource portions and instructing the requested web page to be rendered using the regenerated one or more resource portions and cache the regenerated one or more resource portions.

Caching pagelets of structured documents

A system and method for profile-based cache management is disclosed. A cache management service can obtain a plurality of requests for network resource and corresponding responses, group the requests based, at least in part, on various criterion or technique, determine and cache content parts of the responses corresponding to each group of requests. Cache profiles corresponding to each group of requests and identifying corresponding cached content parts can be built, maintained or updated by the cache management service. A subsequent request for network resource can be matched to one or more cache profiles for retrieval of applicable cached content and for generation of a partial response to the request therefrom. Non-cached content or updates to cached content can be further retrieved for generation of updating data to the partial response, and thus completing a full response to the request for network resource.

SOLUTION: The Web page generation device 10 includes: a file server 100 for generating a template 50b which is common to each user; and a cache server 200 for generating a Web page 50 in which the copy of the template 50b is assembled in accordance with an access from the user. The file server includes: a template generation part 120 for generating the template 50b and an original DB 130 for storing the template 50b. The cache server 200 includes: a template obtaining part 210 for obtaining a copy template 50c from the original DB 130; and a Web page generation part 260 for generating a Web page 50 by incorporating user corresponding information in the copy template 50c. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce wasteful cost while securing processing capability capable of coping with concentration of access. SOLUTION: A storage part 103 caches a module or a template used for generation of a Web page. An M-cache retrieval part 104 retrieves the module to be incorporated into the template from the storage part 103, outputs the module to a page generation part 108 when the module is cached, and notifies a request issuing part 105 about the effect that the module is not cached when the module is not cached. The request issuing part 105 transmits a module request to a master server 4. An information acquisition part 106 receives the module and the template from the master server 4. A cache registration part 107 caches the received template and module into the storage part 103. The page generation part 108 generates the Web page by use of the template and the module.
