Selenium(IV) uptake by maghemite (γ-Fe2O3).
TL;DR: Electrophoretic mobility measurements revealed a significant shift toward lower values of the isoelectric point of maghemite upon selenium(IV) uptake, suggesting the formation of inner-sphere surface complexes, which can be implemented in reactive transport models to improve the prediction ofSelenium migration behavior in the environment.

Crystal Structure and Solution Species of Ce(III) and Ce(IV) Formates: From Mononuclear to Hexanuclear Complexes
Christoph Hennig,Atsushi Ikeda-Ohno,Atsushi Ikeda-Ohno,Atsushi Ikeda-Ohno,Werner Kraus,Stephan Weiss,Philip Pattison,Hermann Emerich,Paula M. Abdala,Andreas C. Scheinost +9 more
TL;DR: The hexanuclear Ce(IV) formate species from aqueous solution is widely preserved in the crystal structure, whereas the mononuclear solution species of Ce(III) formates undergoes a polymerization during the crystallization process.

Preferential adsorption of Cu in a multi-metal mixture onto biogenic elemental selenium nanoparticles
Rohan Jain,Rohan Jain,Rohan Jain,Domician Dominic,Norbert Jordan,Eldon R. Rene,Stephan Weiss,Eric D. van Hullebusch,René Hübner,Piet N.L. Lens,Piet N.L. Lens +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors evaluated the ability of biogenic elemental selenium nanoparticles (BioSeNPs) to preferentially adsorb Cu from an equimolar mixture containing Cu, Cd and Zn.
