CottonFGD: an integrated functional genomics database for cotton
TL;DR: CottonFGD (Cotton Functional Genomic Database), an integrated database that includes genomic sequences, gene structural and functional annotations, genetic marker data, transcriptome data, and population genome resequencing data for all four of the sequenced Gossypium species, is developed.
Pollen magnetofection for genetic modification with magnetic nanoparticles as gene carriers.
Xiang Zhao,Zhigang Meng,Yan Wang,Wenjie Chen,Changjiao Sun,Bo Cui,Jinhui Cui,Manli Yu,Zhanghua Zeng,Sandui Guo,Dan Luo,Dan Luo,Jerry Q. Cheng,Rui Zhang,Haixin Cui +14 more
TL;DR: A type of transformation technology, pollen magnetofection, that allows production of transgenic seeds in multiple species in a fast, culture-free manner and is simple, fast and capable of multi-gene transformation.

Melatonin Regulates Root Architecture by Modulating Auxin Response in Rice.
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that melatonin acts as a potent molecule to govern root architecture in rice and gravitropic response analysis determined thatMelatonin affects auxin-regulated processes in rice root.
GhABF2, a bZIP transcription factor, confers drought and salinity tolerance in cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.).
Chengzhen Liang,Zhaohong Meng,Zhigang Meng,Waqas Malik,Rong Yan,Khin Myat Lwin,Fazhuang Lin,Yuan Wang,Guoqing Sun,Tao Zhou,Tao Zhu,Jianying Li,Shuangxia Jin,Sandui Guo,Rui Zhang +14 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the cloning and characterization of GhABF2, encoding for typical cotton bZIP TF, was reported, which significantly improved drought and salt stress tolerance both in Arabidopsis and cotton.
Activation of ABA Receptors Gene GhPYL9-11A Is Positively Correlated with Cotton Drought Tolerance in Transgenic Arabidopsis.
Chengzhen Liang,Liu Yan,Yanyan Li,Zhigang Meng,Rong Yan,Tao Zhu,Yuan Wang,Shujing Kang,Muhammad Abid,Waqas Malik,Guoqing Sun,Sandui Guo,Rui Zhang +12 more
TL;DR: The identification and characterization of highly induced ABA receptor GhPYL9-11A is reported, which could be a useful strategy for developing drought-tolerant cotton cultivars and the increased in root growth and up regulation of drought stress-related genes in transgenic Arabidopsis as compared to wild type confirmed the potential role of GhPyl9- 11A in abiotic stress tolerance.
