Insertional mutagenesis and characterization of a polyketide synthase gene (PKS1) required for melanin biosynthesis in Bipolaris oryzae
TL;DR: A polyketide synthase gene named PKS1, involved in the melanin biosynthesis pathway of the phytopathogenic fungus Bipolaris oryzae, was isolated using restriction enzyme-mediated integration as mentioned in this paper.

Light-induced Resistance of Broad Bean against Botrytis cinerea
TL;DR: Results indicate that irradiation of broad bean leaflets with red light activated production of antifungal substance(s) in the leaf tissues which seem to be responsible for the induced resistance of broadbean against B. cinerea.

Characterization of the BMR1 gene encoding a transcription factor for melanin biosynthesis genes in the phytopathogenic fungus Bipolaris oryzae.
TL;DR: Results indicated that BMR1 encodes the transcription factor of melanin biosynthesis genes in B. oryzae, which led to more dark colonies than in the wild-type strain under dark conditions.

Red-Light-Induced Resistance in Broad Bean (Vicia faba L.) to Leaf Spot Disease Caused by Alternaria tenuissima
TL;DR: It is concluded that red light induced resistance in broad bean to leaf spot disease caused by A. tenuissima, and that SGF induced susceptibility of broad bean leaflets to a non-pathogenic isolate of A. alternata.

Light‐Enhanced Resistance to Magnaporthe grisea Infection in the Rice Sekiguchi Lesion Mutants
TL;DR: The rice sl mutant showed two types of responses to Magnaporthe grisea infection by light treatments: an sl-mutant-type response characterized by Sekiguchi lesion expression under light waves of 400-700 nm, and a wild-type responded characterized by blast and/or necrotic spot lesionexpression in the dark or at wavelength between 290 and 330 nm.
