An ejection collection device is supported by the carriage and collects spent shell casings and links ejected from the machine gun for discharge through the pintle. A trigger assembly illustratively provides for manual operation by a gunner and for remote electrical operation by a pilot.

Capture elements engage parts of the railcar or the canister during collapse to prevent rebound of the missile-engaging support structure toward the missile.

In the illustrated embodiment, the launcher means comprises an elongated support beam (45) for selective engagement by a longitudinally extending tubular member (32) attached to each missile and includes transfer means (51, 52, 60, 61) for transferring a missile between the storage means and the launcher means when the latter is in said loading position.
