Papers
State of the art in multiaxial phenomenological failure criteria for wood members
Bo Kasal,Robert J. Leichti +1 more
TL;DR: This paper summarizes the current state of the art in applying phenomenological failure criteria to wood and wood-based materials.

Nonlinear finite-element model for light-frame stud walls
Bohumil Kasal,Robert J. Leichti +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors use load-deflection characteristics to transform a three-dimensional detailed model of a wood-frame stud wall into a simple two-dimensional model made equivalent to the original substructure by energy concepts.

Effects of wood decay by Postia placenta on the lateral capacity of nailed oriented strandboard sheathing and douglas-fir framing members
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of wood decay on the single shear strength of nailed oriented strandboard (OSB) sheathing to Douglas-fir framing member connections was investigated.
Temperature distribution in a nailed gypsum‐stud joint exposed to fire
TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined the temperature distribution within nailed joints exposed to fire and found that the principal path of heat flow through the connection was along the nail, rather than directly through the interface between gypsum board and wood.

Effect of Adhesive Stiffness and Thickness on Stress Distributions in Structural Finger Joints
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of adhesive stiffness and thickness on stress distribution patterns in finger joints has been investigated, and it was shown that a flexible adhesive layer concentrates adherend longitudinal and radial stresses at the finger base, whereas a stiff adhesive layer minimizes adherend stresses but increases adhesive stress levels.
