A review of the alien and expansive species of freshwater cyanobacteria and algae in the Czech Republic
Jan Kaštovský,Tomáš Hauer,Tomáš Hauer,Jan Mareš,Markéta Krautová,Tomáš Bešta,Jiří Komárek,Jiří Komárek,Blanka Desortová,Jiří Heteša,Alica Hindáková,Václav Houk,Emil Janeček,Radovan Kopp,Radovan Kopp,Petr Marvan,Petr Pumann,Olga Skácelová,Eliška Zapomělová +18 more
TL;DR: Non-native and invasive/expansive algae and cyanobacteria in the Czech Republic are mapped and their impact on local species and other real or potential risks resulting from their spread are assessed.

Microcystin kinetics (bioaccumulation and elimination) and biochemical responses in common carp (Cyprinus carpio) and silver carp (Hypophthalmichthys molitrix) exposed to toxic cyanobacterial blooms
Ondřej Adamovský,Radovan Kopp,Klára Hilscherová,Pavel Babica,Miroslava Palíková,Veronika Pašková,Stanislav Navrátil,Blahoslav Maršálek,Luděk Bláha +8 more
TL;DR: Microcystins were completely eliminated within one to two weeks from both muscle and hepatopancreas after the transfer of fish with accumulated toxins to clean water, indicating oxidative stress and enhanced detoxification processes.

Biogeographically interesting planktonic Nostocales (Cyanobacteria) in the Czech Republic and their polyphasic evaluation resulting in taxonomic revisions of Anabaena bergii Ostenfeld 1908 (Chrysosporum gen. nov.) and A. tenericaulis Nygaard 1949 (Dolichospermum tenericaule comb. nova)
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors provide updated information on the occurrence of Anabaena bergii, Raphidiopsis mediterranea, and Sphaerospermopsis aphanizomenoides in the Czech Republic.
Changes of Haematological Indices of Juvenile Carp ( Cyprinus carpio L.) under the Influence of Natural Populations of Cyanobacterial Water Blooms
Radovan Kopp,Jiří Heteša +1 more
TL;DR: The observations confirmed adverse effects of cyanobacterial biomass on juvenile carp, and the effect of toxic water bloom populations was manifested by changes of blood plasma indices.
LC-MS analyses of microcystins in fish tissues overestimate toxin levels—critical comparison with LC-MS/MS
Jiří Kohoutek,Ondřej Adamovský,Michal Oravec,Zdeněk Šimek,Miroslava Palíková,Radovan Kopp,Luděk Bláha +6 more
TL;DR: The concentrations of microcystins detected by tandem mass spectrometry in fish from controlled-exposure experiments were more than 50% lower in comparison with concentrations obtained by single mass spectroscopy, which has practical consequences for critical re-evaluation of the health risks of microCystins accumulated in fish.
