Phytoextraction crop disposal--an unsolved problem.
Aleksandra Sas-Nowosielska,R. Kucharski,Eugeniusz Małkowski,Marta Pogrzeba,J. M. Kuperberg,K. Kryński +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, several methods of contaminated crop disposal after phytoextraction process (composting, compaction, incineration, ashing, pyrolysis, direct disposal, liquid extraction) have been described.

The use of indigenous plant species and calcium phosphate for the stabilization of highly metal-polluted sites in southern Poland
R. Kucharski,Aleksandra Sas-Nowosielska,Eugeniusz Małkowski,J. Japenga,J. M. Kuperberg,Marta Pogrzeba,Jacek Krzyżak +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the mesocosm and field experiments with an indigenous, metal-tolerant ecotype of Deschampsia cespitosa from the Warynski site were carried out.

Remediation aspect of microbial changes of plant rhizosphere in mercury contaminated soil.
Aleksandra Sas-Nowosielska,Regina Galimska-Stypa,R. Kucharski,Urszula Zielonka,Eugeniusz Małkowski,Laymon Gray +5 more
TL;DR: The results indicate the potential for using some species of plants to treat mercury contaminated soil through stabilization rather than extraction, and proposes a practical cost-effective temporary solution for phytostabilization of soil with moderate mercury contamination.

Effect of chemophytostabilization practices on arbuscular mycorrhiza colonization of Deschampsia cespitosa ecotype Waryński at different soil depths
Ewa Gucwa-Przepióra,Eugeniusz Małkowski,Aleksandra Sas-Nowosielska,R. Kucharski,Jacek Krzyżak,Andrzej Kita,Paul F.A.M. Römkens +6 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that chemophytostabilization practices enhance AM colonization in D. cespitosa roots, even in soils fertilized with high rates of phosphorus.

Agricultural policy in polluted areas
TL;DR: In this paper, an agricultural land assessment method is described, which enables us to classify the pollution of an area, based on a set of simple indices, which are easy to employ and which identify those species of plants that could be grown without exposing consumers to high levels of contaminants.
